Microsoft has created an application that checks your Windows operating system to see if the copy of Windows you are using is genuine. If it is not, the application launches a "Genuine Microsoft Software Notification" pop-up alerting you that "This copy of Windows is not genuine." This has a purpose. However, many users have reported being flooded with the pop-up notification even when the copy of Windows they are using is genuine. If this happens to you, you can remove the genuine Microsoft software notification. Note that the instructions below apply to the Windows 7 operating system.
