Male fitting on heater core inlet broke off in hose

Is there anyway to fix the plastic male fitting on the heater core inlet. It broke off in the hose. Will I have to replace the entire heater core?

RKmastertech is incorrect. That plastic fitting is seperate from the aluminum heater core and can be removed by means of a special quick disconnect tool, like OTC 6046. Rock auto has the fitting for $5 plus shipping, just for a reference.

When replacing the heater core and heater hoses on a 1996 Buick Lesabre should I also replace the plastic elbow hose connectors

It's worth fitting the elbows as they stop any tight bends or kinks in the hoses. It also helps the heater core fit without any extra problems.

Witch hose's do u connect together on 05dodge caravan to bypass heater core?

You can find the supply and return lines penetrating the firewall on the passenger side of the engine compartment. Disconnect both lines from the firewall and connect the ends using a male/male barbed connector and two hose clamps.

Where do you live, Death Valley?
I KNOW it gets cold even there!!
Anyway, it is a fairly straight forward fix, although you might be a contortionist to get at the hoses. They are RIGHT in back, in the center of the firewall. I did this on my 96 Sebring and had plenty of cuts and bruises to remember it by.
The EASY way though, and it takes more time, is to remove the rear valance that covers the wiper motors.
1. with the hood closed, remove the wiper assys.
2. Open the hood, and with a male Torx socket, remove the louvered beauty cover (black). BAG all bolts and make the bags ALWAYS.
3. remove the steel valance with four bolts on the left, and four on the right. AND remove the single bolt with a large fender washer from the driver's side. Study them and you'll quickly see what I see.
4. The two core hoses are almost dead center of the firewall.
5. Do your thing with the hoses (I take it the core leaks and you're broke like me, so you loop out the hoses)
6. Install in reverse of disassy.
7. GO!

Our 2000 gmc 2500 7.4 engine the antifreeze runs between the valve cover and the intake cannot find where fluide come from, check hose fitting, help

hello, i had a 1997 chevy dually, had same problem, the way gm changed their clamps for hoses, now the clamps sorta hold their self, there made of plastic, and they slip into each other, they are like male and female connections, they slip into each other, i would check all radatior hoses, heater core hoses, i had 6.5 turbo diesel, great motor, only thing is the clamps for heater hoses was plastic, just like on the rocker arms, on the 6.5 they have a nylon plug that holds rocker arms in place, keeps them moving from side to side, they have to be changed at least, 150,000, mine broke off, had to replace 2 pistons, pushrod came out went into motor and broke the skirts off two pistons, very expensive, i would check all clamps with the plastic male to female, ends, maybe that will help, also check thurmostat cover, been known to leak a little too.

Heater core inlet pipe plastic broke

if the heater core inlet pipe broke you may need to replace the unit depending on how far it broke ...to help get the hose off a bent awl or sometimes a small screwdriver and run it around the inside of the hose to help loosen it it otherwise if your replacing the hose as well a razor knife you can cut a **** in it to open it up as well

99 Chevy Z71 heater core inlet hose male fitting broke

This is an easy $7.00 fix. Go to your local auto parts store and get a GM Heater Hose Fitting. I went to NAPA, part #730-5631. Cut of the old fiting with a hack saw blade, being careful not to damage the pipe from the heater core, put the new one on. Total time takes less than 10 minutes, make sure you fill your coolant resevoir.
