I need detailed instructions for the removal of the Memory Card door on an Olympus EVOLT E-300. The lug latches on the door, both cracked and will not let the Card Door latch closed. In the meantime, I have been using a snip of black electrical tape to keep the door closed.

Erasing data completely [MEMORY FOTMAT] / [FORMAT]
In the settings menu you find Memory format / format choose that and confirm.
BUT!!!! before you format, check if no important data is on the card.
When you format the internal memory, your instruction manual (if still there) will be deleted, so first make a backup of that.
All new cards (or cards you use for the first time in the camera, should be formatted.
You could check the manual for more details.
On page 53 there is a section on Error Messages. The Write Protect message indicates that the memory card write-protect switch is set to the "LOCK" position. You will need to remove your memnory card and move the swith to the 'UNLOCKED' position.
For the Olympus, copy and paste the following address into your browser.

The Fuji website is not user friendly and I couldn't find the 2600Z. Sorry.
If this is a brand new memory card, the two things to do/check are:
- Make sure the camera supports 2GB of memory (manual should say that)
- Format the memory card - the manual should give detailed instructions of how to navigate through the menu and perform a format on the memory card
One way to transfer photos from your Olympus c-4000 camera to your computer without installing any software is to remove the memory card from the camera and plug it into a card reader on your computer. The pictures on your camera will be shown in windows explorer as a removable storage device.
If you don't have a card reader connected or built-in to your computer for your memory card type, then try connecting your camera with the usb cable, and your pictures will show up in windows explorer as a removable storage device.
Go to the Olympus site to "downloads" for the C-50 for instructions and they will upgrade the Camera free and pay the return shipping, you need the product code and sales reciept for the card packed with the camera it takes about 10 days. [email protected]
Easy, remove the 9 screws that hold the rear case and pull the case apart,.remember there are 4 screws under the hotshoe base and 4 under the memory door and one under the USB cover. You need to pry and slide the hotshoe base back with a slim screwdriver and youll see 4 screws, remove the rear ones. There will be 2 ribbon cables attached to the rear case, the LCD and the buttons. These pull out carefully with gentle pressure. The LCD can be removed with screws and another ribbon cable connector that needs to be unclipped and then removed. replace LCD, Put it back together and make sure the ribbon cables are fully seated. Good to go.
