the software does not detect that a portable device is connected even when it's plugged into the computer with the USB cable. Therefore, you can't really use the program.

I don't run on vista--use updated windows xp.

the best solution here suggests doing what i already do--use windows media player to sync. (well i try to sync)

-   my iriver clix gen 2 recognizes the usb port.

windows media player will not recognize the clix, repeatedly asking me to "connect to usb port."

What will fix this?-   the3gables

-   My iriver Gen 2 is connected to the Computer but the computer does not seem to want to detect it. Windows Media player doesn't want to detect it as well. And right after i hook it up via USB to my computer, it tends to say "OK to disconnect" on the Clix Screen. >.<-   virile27

i have vista and had the same issue even though plus 3 worked the first time i installed it (might be an issue with the safely remove hardware icon not available most of the time in vista), so now i use windows media player to sync to the device and works fine
