Service Fuser Error appears when the fuser does not warm to the required temperature. For this error on this Lexmark model, the manual states you should power off the printer and power it back on, and if it is not plugged into a wall power point, change it to a power point mounted directly on the wall. Personally, I never got a Lexmark printer to work doing this, but this is in the manual. If this won't help, and the printer is under warranty, you should log it in with the servicing company.

You can find the fuser at the back of the printer, remove the cover and there it is. It holds in two screws and a power connection. If the printer is out of warranty, your next option is to change the fuser which costs around $200, so I think you would be better off getting a new printer unless you find a second hand one on Ebay.

MY OPTRA SE 3455 IS SHOWING THE FOLLOWING: 921 SERVICE FUSER ERROR

A 921error indicates that the fuser unit failed to reach the standby temperature.

  • If this is the first time you have seen the error, turn the printer off and on. Leave the printer off for at. least 10 seconds before turning it back on. This gives the printer's engine board a chance to reset.
  • If this is an intermittent error, you may want to check how the printer is plugged in, even if it has worked on this surge device for months. Make sure the printer is plugged straight to the wall and not through a surge device or power strip. Power strips and uninterrupted power supplies can cause a low amperage problem in your printer which can trigger a false fuser error.
  • If this does not help or if this error appears every time the printer is powered on, you will probably need service on the machine.
If you need further assistance please contact Lexmark Technical Support or any Lexmark authorized service provider.

921 service fuser error

The 921 service fuser error indicates the fuser indicates that the fuser unit failed to reach the standby temperature. This usually requires service. But here's a couple of things worth checking:
  • Unplug printer from power source, replug after 30 seconds. Make sure to plug the printer straight to the power outlet in the wall. Bypass any surge devices or power strips as they can cause low amperage resulting to false fuser error.
  • Check Maintenance kit count. Go to Configuration Menu by pressing Select and Return while powering on the printer. If count value reached 300,000, maintenance kit should be replaced.
If error continues, don't hesitate to contact Lexmark technical support or your authorized service provider for assistance.

I am getting a 922 service fuser error on my lexmark optra s 1855

922 Fuser Error message indicates that the fuser unit failed to reach the standby temperature. This usually requires a service call but try to turn off the printer for 30 seconds before turning it back on to give the engine board a chance to reset. Make sure the printer is plugged in straight to the power outlet in the wall. Bypass any surge device or power strip as they can cause low amperage. If the problem continues or if the error appears every time the printer is powered on, you will probably need service on the machine.

This gives the printer's engine board a chance to reset. Make sure printer is plugged in straight to the wall, bypass any surge device or power strips as this can cause a low amperage problem in your printer which can trigger a false fuser error. If this does not help, you'll probably need service on the machine since it deals with the LVPS, the fuser and the system board.

Invalid engine code?

Try putting the old fuser back and see if it gets rid of the error, then if that's the case the new fuser is defective. If not, here's a link to the Lexmark website which gives you instructions on what to do when having that "Invalid Engine Code" error message. http://bit.ly/9D61W3. Hope this helps. Let me know if you need more assistance.

I am getting a 922 Service Fuser Error what does that mean?

a 922 error means that the ac circuit is open. this is the heat lamp circuit. a burned out bulb, blown thermal fuse, or pitted contacts will be the cause. replace the fuser and your back up and running

I have a Lexmark Optra M410 and I have an error message which reads "921 Service Fuser error". What should I do?

Looks like a hardware failure. Googling "lexmark optra m410 fuser" it appears you can buy a new one for around $100, but I don't know how difficult it is to install. A call to Lexmark tech support couldn't hurt.

ERROR

921 Fuser Error Indicates that the fuser is below standby temperature when the printer is idle.
Error codes 920, 921, and 922 may display for a cold fuser failure. A 920 error caused by low line voltage can sometimes be cleared by turning the machine off and then on again.
Service Tip: Set the Fuser Temperature to NORMAL before starting this service check.
Manually spin the fan and check that
it rotates freely. Check the cable
connection to the engine board, J13
for correct installation.
