Nextar 2gb MP3 Player that I bought at Canadian Tire.
I formatted it after having trouble getting files transferred after reading that on another site now I can't even get the tuner to work.
I am assuming there is some software missing but no longer have the CD that came with it.

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet to your computer and then copy them to your MP3 player using the USB cable. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable to the MP3 player and the computer. You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player will create a MP3 music file for each music track. hi what you need to do is check what format the music is you trying to put on their then you need to convert it to mp3. Most often its wma so you need to convert these files to mp3 your best option is using google and type in convert music from wma to mp3 this will then list loads of sites that will convert the music for you for free then transfer these to your mp3 player then you should find they will all work
Video files need to be converted into the correct format in order to work on the player. This Nextar uses the AVI format for video and you will need to ensure that you have converted your files into this format.
For a good breakdown on how to do this and a link to a free AVI convertor please view this FixYa Tip. Video issues are discussed at bottom of that page.
If you have a file system error, The only way to repair it is to format it. You need to have it connected to pc, then go to my computer, then to go F: drive or whatever drive the player is on, then you can access the files from there.
you really need to make sure your videos are in the right format .
Just get this tool to help you. 1. load your file to Video Sharer 2. choose AVI format 3. click" convert" button. Then you will get the right format. Here is the tool for you: http://www.asharer.com/download-video-sharer
That player is officially toast. There is no recovery software or firmware upgrades for that device - once the key system file is delted, it cannot be recovered.
It sounds like these wma files have DRM protection.
You can still play these songs on your mp3 player, but you must use Windows Media Player to transfer them.
To do this, connect your mp3 player to your computer, then open Windows Media Player. In WMP select "Sync" & you should see your mp3 player in the right-hand pane. Drag & drop your wma files across. It's a slow way to do it, but the only way to transfer wma files with DRM.
where did you get the songs from? make sure the files are in mp3 file format not in another format and make sure they are playing properly before transferring them to the player. The player can support MP3 and WMA files. IF you are sure they are mp3 format the player using USB mode and then retransfer them to the player.
Was not able to find the software there, but thanks for the suggestion.
