Is there a manual for installing new drive belts on my LG Kompressor - we've had it for less than a month and the belt broke. I ordered 2 replacement belts and the new one doesn't work and the brush won't...

You've probably figured this out, but my luv200R had the same problem. The belt broke, I changed it and it still didn't spin the brushes. Turned out, the roller has bearings on either end and one of the bearings was bad and wasn't letting roller roll. So the pulley would spin against the belt and heat up and break it again. I took the bad roller to Sears where they had a new one sent to my house free of charge since it was less than a year old.

The belt for the maain vaccume broke off and now with the new belt the roller will not work.

It sounds like your roller brush itself might be bad. Try holding the roller brush holding just the end caps with your finger tips, and spinning the roller. Does the roller spin freely? If no, this indicates that your roller brush's bearings have melted together. This is a common problem for Bissell vacuums, as they use cheaper plastic bearing caps. The roller brush is not covered under the warranty either.

When this part goes bad, this causes the belt to break almost immediately. If you tried replacing the belt, and it broke immediately, your roller brush has gone bad.

Brushes don't spin

Hello :
try this please : switch the carpet/bare floor dial back & forth 5 times, ending on carpet. Tilt the handle back as if to vacuum upright & lay the vacuum on its side so it is resting on the side opposite the carpet/bare floor dial. Turn the vacuum on.
or try this also if the above suggestion didn't work :
Maybe the belt is broke. You will have to replace the belt before the roller can spin. You must have run over something in the carpeting like string or whatever to have it break. Happens all the time. Get several replacement belts to keep as spares while you're at it as nothing is worse then having to vacuum and no spare belts.

The rubber band that turns the roller on the vacuum keeps breaking. I just bought a new rubber band, put it on, and it broke immediately. Can it be fixed?

The rubber band that turns

The rubber band that turns the roller on the vacuum keeps breaking. I just bought a new rubber band, put it on, and it broke immediately. Can it be fixed?

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
I see there could be 2 problems – either your revolving brush has hair or thread buildup in the ends of the brushroll of which is causing the belt to break and would need to be cleaned out, or check the bearings on each end – they could be **** as well, or the motor shaft or motor assm is not tuning freely and in that case the motor should be replaced and it is not the belt – one other thing is to make sure the motor is in there securely. Once you get the belt on then roll the pulley and the belt together to make sure the belt is on correctly if the brushroll spins freely.

Brush won't spin

Yes it could be the belt or the "Bearing Assembly". I had the same problem with a vacuum I got from a friend. 1st I replace the belt, but when I turned the vacuum on I could smell something burning and then the belt broke in half. I then realized the brush roller was stuck in place and would not turn even with force applied. I later found out that 1 of the 2 Bearing Assembly's was worn out, when a Bearing Assembly is worn out the brush roller can not spin. So now it looks like I need to buy a whole new brush roller, unless I can find a place that sells the Bearing Assembly for part number 61445-1,which is a roller brush for a GE Wal Mart vacuum.
