D-Link DES-1008D 8-Port Ethernet switch is unmanaged switch which can only support 10/100 MBPS.The DES-1008D is a passive switch which means there is no way to configure the ip address and no need to.

This you need to contact the reseller or the store. He will be able to help you with the information. By default the user name is Admin and the password is blank and you should be allowed to work with it. Else there is something which the store should seriously help you on.

You need to replace the switch and the network adapters with a gigabyte switch and adapters to get more bandwidth.

The D-Link DES-1008d is an unmanaged switch that does not need any configuration to work. You just need to plug in your device (PC/Xbox/Laptop) into one of the ports of the switch, using an ethernet patch cord, and it would start communicating with it. I think your xbox 360 already includes a patch cable in the box. You also need to connect the 1008d to your DSL/Cable/whatever modem, using a similar ethernet patch cord, in order to get online.

This is all that you need to do as far as your 1008d is concerned.
