Oki B4300 Will not power up...

The display is faint, resets during boot up (endless loop, never fully boots up). I have used these for years at work with no problems, yet i have had 2 die on me so far at home with the same problem.

Thanks in advance...

I don't know if you got your problem fixed or not. I had the same problem. There is a bad capacitor on the power supply board. Replaced cap. about a year ago and it has been working great.

Oki actually has a recall on bad power supplies and if your serial number is on the list they will replace at no charge!

Hello guys, I have a fast booting loop problem

A boot loop is a common issue that can occur on a computer or mobile device where the device continuously restarts or "loops" through the boot process without fully starting up.
Here are some possible solutions for a boot loop problem:
  1. Restart the device: Try restarting the device by holding down the power button for a few seconds until the device turns off, then turn it back on again.
  2. Boot into safe mode: Try booting the device into safe mode. This is a troubleshooting mode that allows you to access the device with limited functionality.
  3. Clear the cache partition: Some devices have a separate cache partition that can be cleared to fix boot loop issues. You can do this by booting into recovery mode and using the appropriate option to clear the cache partition.
  4. Factory reset: If none of the above steps work, you can try factory resetting the device. This will erase all personal data and settings, so make sure to back up any important data before proceeding.
  5. Check for hardware issues: If none of the above steps work, there may be a hardware issue causing the boot loop problem. You may need to take the device to a professional for repair.
It's important to note that the steps may vary depending on the device's model, firmware version, and the region. It's best to check the manufacturer's manual or online guide for specific instructions.

WE HAVE A OKI B4300 PRINTER IN OUR LAB (WE ARE A MEDICAL CLINIC). IT SEEMS TO BE STUCK IN SOME SORT OF LOOP. THE DISPLAY READS RAMCHECK AND INITIALIZING OVER AND OVER AGAIN

If the printer has additional memory, remove the memory and reboot the printer. If the printer initializes, the ram memory may be defective. Try reseating the optional memory, if unit fails to initialize, memory option is defective.
If the printer does not have any additional memory, this "RAM CHECK" condition is probably being caused by a low voltage power supply problem. It is recommended to replace the low voltage power supply - part number 41991601.

Oki b4300 with error 173

Because you drum is worn out, and resetting the counter only forces the unit to keep working with weared consumables. A new drum unit is quite expensive, but it lasts 20,000 pages so the cost per print is low.

Error code 173

That error means low temperature on the heat roller. The thermistor (something like an electric thermostat) measures the amount of heat needed to work. Error 173 refers a lower temperature than required, while error 172 refers overheat. The complete error list will be of no use to you, since most errors will refer you to an authorized service center.
