IF THE DOOR OPENS WITH YOUR REMOTE BUT DOESN'T CLOSE (AND WORKS NORMALLY FROM THE WALL BUTTON) THE PROBLEM IS IN THE SAFETY EYES - CHECK TO SEE THAT BOTH LED'S ARE LIT.

IF NOT CHECK WIRING POLARITY - CHECK FOR BROKEN WIRES - CHECK FOR ALIGNMENT AGAIN.

My new installed garage door opener closes and opens right away

You have to adjust the safety pressure sensor. It is set to too light a pressure. Check your manual for the adjustment.

The garage door opener inside the garage doesn't open or close the garage door. How do I diagnose? The model # is: 41A5389-1B

The model number you give is a part number for the logic board. Does your remotes work? Is it only the wall control that isn't working?

Door suddenly will not close without holding the button down continuously that is inside the garage. The remote button will open the door but not close it. The door starts to close and stops right away.

It definitely sounds like a sensor problem. In normal operation, one sensor will have an amber or yellow light on, indicating power to the sensing circuit. The opposite sensor should have a green light on. If the yellow light is not on there is no power to the circuit due to a broken wire or circuit board failure. If the green light is not on or is flickering, the sensors are not aimed at each other or the light path is blocked.

GARAGE DOOR DOESNT CLOSE COMPLETLY UNLESS I KEEP THE BUTTON PRESSED!

There are probably two photo sensor near the ground at either side of your garage door. They are there to stop the garage door from closing if there is something in the path of the door. Likely one of the sensors got bumped or moved and it is not lining up correctly. Adjust the sensors until they line up and allow you to close the door by pressing the button on your remote once.

The garage Remote control was working normally at first then for now reason now it just opens the garage door but doesn't close it. I checked the side sensors they look OK & clear, and I...

It could be the garage door motor that is acting up. Try closing it with the button in the garage. If that's not the case, you may need a different garage door opener.

Garage door only closes halfway

If the main light is flashing 10 times when the door reverses when closing it is a door sensor problem. You can override this with the door control but not with a remote. Make sure the door sensors are pointed at one another and the small light on each one is on and not flickering.

Liftmaster 1/2 - Will not close

What usually happens is a sensor gets bumped so that they no longer are pointed at one another. They must be for the light on the second sensor to come on. Tweak them and see if you can get the light to come on. If you can't you either have bad wiring going to that sensor or the sensor itself has quit working.

Automatic garage door

Hello,

There should be 2 sensors on the bottom of your door on the inside, 1 on the right side and 1 on the left side.
These sensors serve 1 purpose to send a beam or reflection to each other.
If something is blocking this reflection or is in front of the sensor the door will always come back up.
It is a safety feature so nothing or no one gets hurt when the door is closing!
