Use tweezers to gently squeeze the exposed end of the CF card, then -- again, gently -- wiggle the card back and forth in the slot until it comes loose. You probably put it in upside down and the plastic alignment edge is stuck. (Hopefully you didn't bend the contact pins in the CF bay when you put the card in.) Bottom line: NEVER force a CF or SD card into its slot!
CF stands for compact flash which means you have an error with your memory card. Try removing and replacing your compact flash memory card. If that doesn't work you may need to format your memory card or replace it.
If your camera uses a compact flash card, then something is wrong with it. Possible causes:
card needs formatting in camera (this will erase it)
one or more pins inside camera are bent.
Card was erased or formatted on computer instead of camera.
Dynamite, have you tried to reformat the CF card? If you deleted the image through your computer and not with the camera, the computer may have removed more than what was needed...
I had the same symptoms. I took it to an authorized Canon repair shop. For $150, they resoldered connections on my 'power supply board'. No idea why the solder gave out. It's working great now.
I don’t know why you PDA can not read your card but I found some infrmations about parts which are compatible with e800. As far as I know this types are compatible with e800.
