Check deep inside the card slot to see if you have any bent pins. They can often be straightened out with a thin screwdriver.

How to remove stuck compact flash card.

Use tweezers to gently squeeze the exposed end of the CF card, then -- again, gently -- wiggle the card back and forth in the slot until it comes loose. You probably put it in upside down and the plastic alignment edge is stuck. (Hopefully you didn't bend the contact pins in the CF bay when you put the card in.) Bottom line: NEVER force a CF or SD card into its slot!

Err CF I have a Canon Rebel XT, how do i fix this error and what does it mean?

CF stands for compact flash which means you have an error with your memory card. Try removing and replacing your compact flash memory card. If that doesn't work you may need to format your memory card or replace it.

I have a CF err on my Canon Rebel XTI EOS

If your camera uses a compact flash card, then something is wrong with it. Possible causes: card needs formatting in camera (this will erase it) one or more pins inside camera are bent. Card was erased or formatted on computer instead of camera.

I have a Canon EOS 350D, Compact Flash card freezes my computer

Instead of connecting via the camera, just use a USB card reader and put the CF card in that.

Compact Flash Problems

Dynamite,
have you tried to reformat the CF card?  If you deleted the image through your computer and not with the camera, the computer may have removed more than what was needed...

CF Error

I had the same symptoms. I took it to an authorized Canon repair shop. For $150, they resoldered connections on my 'power supply board'.  No idea why the solder gave out. It's working great now.
