I downloaded a game and have been playing it for a week now and yesterday it decided to not play any more just shows the title EA games and no option to do anything but switch out of the application

If it only does it with the one game, then the company of the game, or the company hosting the game's servers is having problems with the way their servers are running.
20GB for just playing online is way too much. Are you using wireless or wired internet? Maybe someone is leeching your internet connection and downloading stuff without your knowledge. Normal online play woulnd't consume such huge amounts of bandwidth. I recommend you change your wireless password.
OK so i posted my problem yesterday 25/03/09 about fable 2 freezing... I didn't take the advice from xbox i decided to download the game onto my hardrive and it seems to be working fine now I have played for a few hours with no problems just made sure that i go into the game library and click on the fable 2 game and then take the oiption play from hardrive hope this helps others that are having trouble i'll keep you all updateds if i incure any other problems with it... good luck and happy gaming everyone
no red lights, no previous error msgs, and video output on the box has just died. playing halo yesterday and mid-game the colours went askew (like a green overlay) with horizontal banding, backing out to the dash solved nothing so after a reboot there was simply no video. troubleshooted the tv and cables and its definately the box. http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=625804
