The DS's Wi-Ficannot get nintendo dsi to work with my wireless - 2_bing.gif capabilities are not up to par and can unfortunately be a little fickle sometimes, and many people would rather buy another wi-fi device before trying to set it up, but if you do want to attempt to obtain your wep key so you can have wi-fi I am happy to assist you.
What you must do is get on to a computer that is hooked up to your wireless modem. From there you should be able to bring up on your system settings the information about the . Depending on what type of modem it is, you may have to flip through the more advanced information to find the wep address.
Once you do, you will have to put that code into the DS and pray that it works, because much of the time your DS will still not be able to connect.

When I try to download games from the nintendo ds shop, It keeps telling me that I have to connect to the internet and I don't know how to.

Here is a link to the downloadable Nintendo DSi XL manual: http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/downloads/UTL_ops_eng.pdf

On page 73 of the manual it has a good description on what the requirements are to connect the DSi to the internet. At a minimum you would need a broadband internet connection (cable modem, DSL, etc.), and a wireless router to run a wireless network. The DSi connects to the internet over a wireless (Wi-fi) network.

Once you have the equipment set up you need to join your DSi to your wireless network. Page 79 of the manual describes the most common scenario for connecting a DSi to a home wireless network.

Internet access on the nintendo DSI is saying no compatible access point in range check your connection settings under the internet option and try again error code 051099 we dont know the ssid code to...

The nintendo dsi needs a wireless router transmitting in MIXED mode, meaning that it transmits using B mode as well as G or for newer routers N mode. If it is setup to transmit in G or N only, then the DSI will not detect it.

Also, the DSI is not compatible with WPA security. You need to set up a weaker WEP security code or turn off wifi security altogether.

Also, make sure the router is broadcasting the SSID name which is the name of the wireless router.

I dont know how to put internet on my dsi

  1. Turn on the Nintendo DSi
  2. Click on the wrench icon to access "System Settings."
  3. Select "Internet" on the third page of System Settings.
  4. Select "Connection Settings" and tap the "None" bar in "Connection 1."
  5. You have the option of setting up a connection manually, or searching for available connections in the area. You may also access your Nintendo Wi-Fi USB connector, if you have one (the product has been discontinued). The easiest thing to do is select "Search for an Access Point."
  6. Your Nintendo DSi will list the names of any wireless access points in range. A gold, unlocked icon next to the connection's name signifies an unlocked WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) connection that can be accessed immediately. A locked gold icon signifies an encrypted WEP connection that requires a WEP key (password).
  7. If you are accessing a locked/encrypted connection, enter your WEP key. You may also click "Change Security Settings" to enter a WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) key.
  8. If your WEP key is correct, your Nintendo DSi should connect. You can test your connection to verify.
  9. You're set! Now you can surf the Internet, purchase games and add-ons in the Nintendo DSi Shop, and play games that allow wireless access and competition (with WEP connections, only).
