I need assistance, on how to dismantle a keyboard

You have to remove the keyboard. Most laptops have the keyboard screws at the bottom or underside of the pc and right next to the screw hole is a little keyboard picture thing or illustration that tells you that screw is to hold down the keyboard. once the keyboard is removed, you can easily get the LCD screen wires disconnected.

restart your computer. on boot it will say press del for bios. do that. in case it enters the bios menu then keyboard is fine. probably some virus in windows. if not then your keyboard is damaged.

It is a combination of key known as "Function" (Fn, for short). You have to press it and hold while pressing other keys showing the blue letters on it. The most common use is to make a virtual Numerical Keypad on laptops, so you can perform calculations. To be back to normal mode, you need to press FN+F8 (or the key with the Calculator icon).

yes, all laptop keyboards can be replaced. do you have the manual for the laptop? it shows you have to remove it and take it apart. or you can download the manual from their website. you can buy a used keyboard from ebay. I don't think they are thay expensive.

Shutdown your pc. Turn it on, then hold the F8 key. If nothing happens and goes into windows, your keyboard is damaged.  You can contact Compaq support to have it fixed if your under warranty. If your out of warranty, you may want to dismantle the keyboard and check its connection leading to the motherboard. You may want to remove it and reseat it again.

perhaps you toggled off the moniter... look on your keyboard for a monitor icon.... it happens alot
