Print4er i am unable to connect my JP Officejet J6450 All in One printer to my computer. I seem to be unable to make the correct connection. I have followed the prompts from my computer and still nothing is accomplished. I would refer to my printer manual; however, it did not come with one. I feel certain if I had a guide to follow I could solve this problem. Please provide me with information.

When installing the printer click on local printer and uncheck the box below it. I think it says something like locate my device. then on next screen click create new port, you should see USB001 in there.
Make sure the printer is on and connected to the computer.
If that doesn't help then the best is to reinstall the software for the printer.
First uninstall from Add/Remove programs in control panel and then reinstall it using the CD that came with it.
If the software is installed correctly it should scan from the scanner, otherwise i would suggest using the scan button on the software screen. Make sure all your drivers are up to date!
I also have vonage and this fax macine - the incoming fax was going to vonage answering machine.
I went to setup (that little button above and to the right of the OK button to "basic fax setup" and changed my rings to answer from 5 to 2. This will work for me, because I only set it to auto answer when I know a fax is inbound - you might want to adjust so you can aswwer a call if you do not have a dedicated fax line.
