The unit won't power on at all.

My Samsung HT-TX72 home theater system will not power on at all. Thought it might be a fuse. Opened it up and sure enough I found a blown fuse.( 10amp 250 volt ceramic ) Would this be the cause? I am having problems finding a new fuse.

You can try replacing it with any 10 amp fuse just to see what happens. If a new fuse keeps blowing out then you have a shorted power amplifier inside(they consist of transistor or a single chip). These device look normal most of the time short out with any visual indication. If you desolder the power amp chips(they are mounted against an aluminum heat sink to dissipate heat) and the fuse quit blowing then it is the problem.

UNIT WON'T TURN ON.

These are also used in microwave ovens so most hardware stores will have them on hand.
Buy two; if the first one blows, don't install the second until you check back here; this will mean you will need some further investigation. Fuses do blow because of metal fatigue (expanding and contracting with on/off cycles) but if the second one blows, the fuse is protecting against larger problems such as a failed output module.

How do I hook up a ps2 so it will play in the surround sound for a samsung ht tx72

Your HT is only capable of inputting an external audio signal, either via analog RCA (red/white) or via an digital optical cable. The video of your PS2 will then be connected directly to the TV.

Samsung home theater

After having my unit for a year, it now reads this PROTECTION message. I tried to restore factory settings also before calling Samsung & they said something wrong with the cooling fan. Haven't tore into it yet, but does the units come with a fuse that might be blown. I'm tring to find free schematics on the net but hard to track down. If you just got yours, take it back to the store & get a new one!
