    1) Are you using the bundled logitech headset with the attached microphone? Or a different microphone? 2) What Operating System are you using?

Try use the skype options, setup.
That will step through checking and setting up the camera and microphonr FOR SKYPE.
You need to set up you eqipment for skype.

Also check the microphone levels for your camera by right click the volume control, call up properties and select audio, make sure your camera is listed as the "recording device" and the same in "voice"

Now close the boxes and right click on volume control again this time select "open volume control" make sure "microphone" is in the list.

whilst there select "properties" then tick "recording then OK

Make sure there is a tick in "microphone here too this is important.
move the slider to about 3/4 up

If there is an "advanced" button under micropohone then click it the tone contols may be greyed out but try putting a tick in the "mic boost" and close any boxes that are open

You should be ready to try skype again you may have to make some small alterations to the recording level and the volume level for the microphone (they are two seperate things as you have just seen) but yo should be good to go

Hi,
I got this of Skype.
We are sorry to hear that you are having problems with Skype video.
Thank you for contacting Skype customer support about your video settings.
If you are using a Logitech webcam, please follow the steps below:
NB! To begin with please close Skype and make sure that you have unplugged the webcamera before installing the installation software that came with it.
1) Go to the control panel and open Add/Remove programs. Then from there uninstall any Logitech webcam software and Logitech webcam drivers from the list shown.
2) Download the latest drivers for your webcam from
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/405/&cl=roeu,en?prodcrid=405

3) Open the webcam installer package by double clicking it.
Now select: Custom installation (advanced) and click next. You are now given a choice whether you would like to install the software and drivers or just the drivers. Please select the second option (Logitech QuickCam drivers) then uncheck 'Enable VoIP Device Management' and click 'Next'. Accept the agreements and on the next page select 'I do not want to activate this Service' (Logitech destkop Messenger). Click 'Next' and the Logitech drivers should be installed. Restart your system and plug in your webcam. Your webcam should now be correctly installed.

Dear friend, if other side does not have a cam or does not put the cam on mode for you then your not able to view them. Some time other side camera window will open in your Skype but you can't see the image. May be you seen black screen or green. It will happens for the few reason. 1. Slow internet connection, 2. wireless net connection, 3. if the other side camera open for other messenger , for exam Yahoo/msn & at the same time she/he sending you a cam viewing invitation in Skype , that time you will see those screens. 4. After log in go in Privacy then Calls & then open video settings. Now you set the Automatically receive video from mode & try after that to use.

Thanks & waiting for your feedback.

Logitech

I fixed the problem. Uninstall ed everything and anything that said Logitech from the system. Detached the cam, then rebooted. Then I installed the software & Drivers. Then plugged in the cam and it worked. Had to upgrade the mic drivers for some reason the logitech software debunked it.
