SOURCE: need to know how to change heating coil in white
The link below discusses disassembly of models similar to yours. The main difference is that the manual covers models with front controls whereas yours has top controls.
Unplug dryer. Place putty knife in the seam between the top and front panel about 2” in from either side. Push in on clip while pulling control panel forward and tilting putty knife handle up, all at the same time. Same on opposite side. Raise top all the way.
Looking down inside dryer on left and right see a screw about 6 inches down. Remove each side while holding front panel in place. Pull top of front panel about 3 inches forward from sides and then pull up. This will disengage the front panel from lower pressure clips and allow you to turn it sideways and expose the dryer interior.
Continue with "Removing the drum" on page 69. Having removed the drum exposes the heater behind it and safety thermostats above the heater shroud. The heater is generally purchased and replaced as a coil only not as a complete assembly as described in step 4 of page 72. Look for a break in the coil by touching all sections until found. If the break is not found check thermostats, motor switch at back of motor and heat contacts in timer for open circuits. Repair as necessary.
Reverse above process to reassemble.
