Yes you can tighten the washers too tight as well as not tight enough. It might pay to get some one who knows what they are doing or it could cost you more money than what it;s worth for repair.

The cause of leaking is the ceramic gasket. Yes you can replaced it. Find your local hardware store then buy a repair kit for that faucet. If you can bring the sample bring it.

SOURCE: New Danze D308340 faucet leaking under handle. Can't remove the capto get to retainer screw, which needs tightening.

is the capp colored red/blue? if yes, take a picky pointy knife (lmao) and peel it off, pick it off,The leak is probable just the adjustment under the handle, the fawcet originaly came with a tiny spud wrench (made like a 2 pick pitch fork, if you cant find one, i use a pair of channel locks pliers, but first wrap rubber glove or cloth around the top of fawcet so you dont scratch it.How old is this fawcet?

Leaky faucet

Need more info. Is it leaking in between the faucet and hose or the end of the faucet or around the handle of the faucet? If leaking between hose and faucet a little rubber washer will do the trick. If its the faucet it could be inside the faucet. You can buy a new one, or take it apart and take your parts to the local hardware store whom can assist you there. If its around the handle simply tighten screw ontop of handle.

Solaris Model #06544860 leaking under the sink. How do I remove and how do I figure out exactly what is leaking?

The first thing I would do is to locate source of the leak. Look carefully at faucet when it is on and see if you have any water leaking from areator and running back down the underside of spout and leaking around base of faucet, also see if you have any leaks around handle. If the leak is from the areator you can just replace it and not have to remove the faucet. when you check under sink on faucet supply lines make sure they aren't leaking at that point. I would use paper towels or rags to wipe everything dry under faucet and let it set for 1/2 hour then check again. If it.s still dry run some water and use both hot and cold water seperatly, checking underside in between. If you determine that leak is coming from top side and leaking thru. Shut off water supply valves if available if not shut off supply to house, make sure water is off before proceeding. Disconnect supply lines from faucet,Remove retaing nuts on either side of base, and remove washers. Remove faucet and check for any obvious faults. If you think it was leaking around base get a small tub of plumbers putty. Most hardware stores stock it. Remove a golf ball sized portion or larger and knead in your hands until it is warm and pliable. Press into place in faucet base. Continue doing this until it's full. Reinstall plastic or rubber base gasket and put faucet back in place Put washers and retaing nuts back on a tighten till snug. Center faucet where you want it and tighten securely. Scrape off excess putty with knife point and wipe with paper towels till clean. Hook up supply lines and turn water back on. Check for leaks and good luck. Thank you

I have an american standard single control faucet. I realized water was leaking down the pipes. When i turned of the hot water valve, water stopped leaking. How do i go about fixing this.

Chances are your supply line is leaking. One of three things (easy fixes).
1) There is a "packing nut" on the shut off which holds the handle on - this could be leaking (just tighten with pliers while open).
2) There is a nut directly above the shut off (3/8 inch) which goes directly to the faucet. Simply thighten this nut.
3) There is yet another nut above the last (very near the faucet). This is a 5/8 nut and you will most likely need a "crescent wrench" to tighten this as you cannot get pliers up there. You can purchase a crescent wrench at any hardware store for about 10 bucks. Good luck!

Just installed and is leaking from faucet body at joints.

If you used sealer (teflon tape) it shouldn't be leaking where the water hoses connect, unless it is still loose. If the faucet leaks water from ANYWHERE else (handles, swivel neck, spout) you have a bad faucet.
I would suggest if this is the case to replace the unit. Otherwise, remove your hoses and put pipe tape on the threads where the hoses connect, then reconnect the hoses, and tighten them down-don't strip the threads or break the connection. If it is a new faucet, it shouldn't leak anywhere when properly installed.

Hope this helps.

Grohe ladylux plus is leaking

I believe there is a cartrige that has some washers in the unit. There may be some debris caught in there since it was a little loose. I would turn the water off and disassymble the unit and replace any obvious washers and clean everthing up. Replace it all and try it again. If it still leaks, contact Grohe for more trouble shooting. Faucets have fantastic warranties and companies usually will send replacement parts free of charge at times. Hope this helps.
