Nokia flip phone (2720) is set to ring etc. at loudest but doesn't make any noise, jut vibrates. Went through all settings but won't work. Was ringing up until yesterday.

I can imagine it how annoying it would be to you to see your cell vibrating instead of playing your favorite ring tone. Most probably it could be because of incorrect Profile configuration. It is possible to make your phone vibrate in almost every profile so we will assume that it is the reason for your problem too. Do the following and check some parameters as described.

1. Go to Menu > Settings > Profiles
2. Select Profile and then Select General.
3. After selecting General you will be given 3 options (Activate, Personalize, Timed)
4. Select Personalize.
5. In the Incoming Call Alert field, select Ringing.
6. In the Ringing Tone field, select your favorite ring tone.
7. Scroll down, (push down button) the next field would be Ringing Volume. For now select the max.
8. Scroll down to the Vibrating Alert field and set it to Off.
9. Scroll further down thill the very last field where it says Alert For, select All Calls for this field.
10. Save your modifications.
11. Activate the profile and see if it works now.

Only and only If it doesn't work, it may be due to software corruption.
In that case reset your phone to the factory default settings by going to:
Menu > Settings > Press UP button.
Select Restore Factory Sett. give your Security Code (default = 12345) and viola.
(Make backup of your messages ad contacts before attempting this)

I think u done something wrong , Go the factory default setting option and put the password Default (12345) and restore the your default setting..

well the only option is that u can request ur network carrier to block that number for u.

• Create new profile or modify existing profile (Don't modify silent)
• Put vibrate mode on and ringing volume 0

Unlock your phone and press the middle bottom scroll button and select the general profile and select personalize option and selecr ringtone of your choice.

I had the same problem with mine. when I would go to tone settings every time I tried to hit ring tone it would turn off the phone and restart, by the way in ring tone it was blank. No matter what I did it wouldn't work. So I went to settings then restore factory settings entered the code. It reset the factory settings, then when I went back to tone settings the ring tone said Nokia Tune so I hit enter and it gave a list of all other ring tones, then it worked so my phone finally rings.... Hope it works for you.

warning tones (on) this is for the alarm and ringtone this is where your problem is so double check these settings ok
alert for (all calls)

press
1. menu 2. profiles 3. general 4. personalize
then move down to incoming call alert than select off
and move vibration select on

did i solve the problem
