JBL has the Quick Start Manual for the Flip 2 on the product site: http://www.jbl.com/bluetooth-speakers/JBL+FLIP+II.html . Scroll down and expand the Manuals & Downloads section. The link to the manual is the one on the right. The direct link is http://demandware.edgesuite.net/aauj_prd/on/demandware.static/-/Sites-masterCatalog_Harman/default/dw3064f0fb/pdfs/Flip2_QSG_EN.pdf . The pairing feature should be as simple as tapping the Bluetooth icon on the speaker. Then set your laptop to search for a new Bluetooth signal.

If the battery is failing even when the AC adapter is plugged in the voltage will be low, this is likely what is causing this symptom.

1...open the battery compartment and get the model number of the battery.
it's the number printed on the side of the battery
(ex. NP24-12B) the manufacturers name might also be printed there but thats not quite as important because almost all batteries are known by their number for replacement purposes.
check the size of the replacement batteries to make sure they match with the size of your old battery to be sure it will fit in the existing enclosure 2...buy a new battery of that model number.

3...replace the old worn out battery with the new one.

4...test the operation of the unit to make sure everything went well, remember you might have to let the battery charge overnight before it will work correctly.

Seems the battery has gone bad prematurely. Charging circuits have to be good since the unit works fine off the adapter plugged into the mains.
