This problem is caused by a faulty gas valve.

SOURCE: the pilot light doesnt stay

Hi and welcome to FixYa. Most of the time this is as simple as changing the thermocouple. Any Appliance parts source will most likely have one that will fit your unit. (GAS VALVE OFF) It is a matter or unscrewing the thermocouple nut from the gas valve and then un-mounting the thermocouple probe end to change it out.

Take your OLD thermocouple with you to your LOCAL Appliance parts source so they can match the total length. Heating and Air-conditioning stores may have the thermocouple but your going to pay up to purchase a thermocouple from them. Same goes for restaurant equipment sources! $$$

Just make sure before you reinstall the new probe assy that your clean / wipe out the gas valve hole where the thermocouple nut mates to the gas valve very well. The probe works via micro volts and any dirt / corrosion / debris can affect the way the probe operates.

After changing out the thermocouple everything should work normally again. If not then the gas valve itself has a problem (highly unlikely) In the future if you need detailed info please pass your units model number in your response.

Thanks for choosing FixYa.

SOURCE: My problem is the pilot

Hello,
This sounds like a "thermocouple". You can buy them just about anywhere and are easy to replace, most have little to no hardware. You can buy a universal one if it is too difficult to locate a model and serial number. One other thing to check would the gas supply- you want to make sure that supply for the gas is not turned off or the valve inside the equipment is faulty. If the gas valve is locked up or there is no gas supply then you will want to address that first.
Hope this helps, James

Hi I have a Lincat lpg silverlink df4 fryer gas LPG. It lights but the cuts out after 15/20 minutes? Could anyone help please

It sounds like your Lincat LPG Silverlink DF4 fryer is experiencing a safety shutdown due to overheating. This is a common issue with deep fryers and can be caused by a number of factors, including a clogged or dirty fryer, a malfunctioning thermostat, or a failing safety switch.
To determine the cause of the problem, you may need to perform some troubleshooting steps, such as cleaning the fryer thoroughly and checking the thermostat for proper function. If you are not familiar with these types of repairs, it is best to contact a qualified repair technician who can diagnose the problem and recommend the appropriate course of action.

Pilot lights however when I turn the temp up to where I want it set to pilot goes out. The thermostat makes a ckicking sound when I tune it right before pilot goes out

Hi there.
Verify if the gas pressure fed to the fryer is correct. Check also for errors/ loose wire connections on gas valve, thermostat and hi limit, last possible cause, the thermopile is weak and cannot give enough power to energize pilot and main valve at the same time.
Regards.

I have got lincat fryer j10 the pilot won't stay

Hi there.
Make sure that the thermopile is receiving enough heat from the pilot and if it does, check if the hi limit is good, check and tighten also all of the wiring connections, before replacing the gas valve.

Hello i have a J5 lincat fryer and the pilot stays alight but the burners won't connect (light) have replaced the thermostat and the thermo couple but still no joy any ideas on this not sure what to do...

Check if there is 500 to 750 millivolts across the thermopile wires; thermopile generates 500 to 750 millivolts if properly heated to energize pilot and main valve solenoids of the gas valve for pilot and main burner operation. If the voltage across the thermopile is good and all wiring connections are ok, I think you have to replace the gas valve.

Comercial deep fryer pilot light goes out

This problem could be caused by a few different things. You should check the condition of your pilot and the thermocouple, if the pilot is weak due to being dirty you will not generate the optimum Millivolts to run the fryer, you may need to dissassemble and clean the pilot. The thermocouple needs to be correctly placed in the pilot assembly, if it has dropped down to where it is not in the flame it will not work correctly. You may need a new thermopile as it may not be generating millivolts as needed. Gas pressure can cause this as well, if the pilot goes out then the main burners come on you should check the gas pressure. One more thing to check is the hi-limit thermostat, if this is cutting out early your pilot will go out. Imperial uses a self-resetting limit, after a few minutes your fryer will relight and work until if cuts out again. If your fryer pilot stay on with the thermostat off for long periods of time and does not go out immediately when the burners come on and the pilot is clean, you may need a hi limit. This is a lot of info, I hope it helps.
