You need to uninstall the printer completely from Windows 7 and download the driver from the following link. http://bit.ly/5sKzoy Once you have downloaded the driver follow the on screen installation instructions to reinstall your printer using the correct driver.

Press "R" to go to the "Recovery Console while you boot the Windows".

The issue with OS will not be resolved unless you copy your old window OS to your new computer...it sound as it was not original...let me know

probably you need a bootable cd to resolve this issue or else try to create a bootable cd through other computer using NERO software tool.

hi mureen ok boot into windows you want, then when it's all loaded right click on the start button choose explore, then go down the list till you see the windows forlder one will say windows000 something like that, click on that one choose delete, then when it's deleted, close the box by clicking the red x at the top corner.
now once this is done we need to remove it from boot, press start then go to run...it may be under accessories ......type in msconfig then choose the BOOT.INI on the tabs.....then click on check all boot paths it should find that there is one copy of windows now and ask you if you want to remove the other one.
then click ok on the box and let it close.
now reboot your computer and see it asks you what version you want to run........

  The problem is that this particular Deskjet does not have any software drivers that are compatible with Windows 98.  Only for Operating Systems that are running Windows 2000 or later. Which includes XP and Vista. The only alternative is to do some research on other printers and make sure that they will be compatible with windows 98.
 Of course, there is always an option to upgrading your computer to  Windows 2000 or Xp....
