Not 100 % sure but on my dvr that is auto record. if you right click and go to record and then click in each frame of in the selection box you can get them to do a manual record. than it changes to a dark color. i checked mine and they are all blue and they are recording in auto mode and they loop when the drive gets full.

SOURCE: cctv remote view/ adtran total access 900e

It's not likely that VZ gave you dynamic IP's, but it's possible. You should have been given more than one. If not, it's better to get more and a set of configuration instructions. In the last one I set up, we put a 5-port switch on the ethernet port coming off the Adtran, then fed 2 routers and a security system from the switch. Our gateway was one number lower than the bank of IP's we had, and we just gave each piece of equipment a static ip address and gateway to the gateway :-)

SOURCE: cctv wavy lines from camera

often problems with lines is either down to RF or if all the cameras are powered of the same psu that it could be that your psu is underated and the cameras are pulling to many amps most moden cameras rum anything from 200mas upto 1.5amps with infra red so if you only have a 500ma psu its going give up slowely

SOURCE: how to setup up my cctv cam to sonicwall tz170

If your camera is connected to DVR then do the port redirection on your firewall so that you shall view the cameras from internet, If your camera is directly connected to network using RJ45 simply do the port redirection to IP address of CCTV camera.

No picture,circle with slash

This means that there is no camera signal getting to the DVR. Could be a bad camera, or camera power supplies, or connection to DVR or camera.

Firmware update fail on night owl fs84500

Same here. Updated firmware system rebooted and locked on the Night Owl screen. Mine is the FS-8500.( DVR model FS-500 ). Anybody find a fix to the issue? I believe the firmware is in the motherboard. Anyway to hook to PC and "push / force" the firmware into the DVR. Or some tyoe of master reset. Or is this thing bricked for good.

If it cant be fixed, do you know where I can get a new motherboard with firmware installed. Tried talking to tech support but am fighting with them over the issue. Pretty freaking useless over there.

No picture on my tv from cctv camera

it is neither clear what sort of output your cctv cameras produce, nor what sort of input your dvr accepts. but, for the most part, dvrs record digital tv signals, whereas cctv cameras output analogue signals. so, even though you may be able to plug a cctv camera "straight" into a tv via a scart connector, it is unlikely that any scart connectors on a dvr have the necessary circuitry to accept such signals.
