Find yourself a electrical distribution diagram an see where the B+ voltage to the ignition comes from . An you need to be a little more specific ! Ignition system or ignition switch .

Enter vehicle info. year , make , model an engine size . Under system click on electrical distribution ,then under subsystem click on power distribution . Click the search button then the blue link's one at a time .

It should be noted that the ETC system includes a wrench light on the instrument cluster that illuminates when a fault is detected. Faults are also accompanied by DTCS and the "Check Engine Soon" light.
Your best bet mite be to take it to a qualified repair shop.

put it back into 2 wheel drive, then reverse 10 or 15 feet, this should unlock the hubs.

put in " N"
turn the 4X4 switch on
Then put in gear..
What do you see now?
Do the same in reverse when you take out of 4X4

It should just pull off once you have taken the caliper off. It may be seized in place, if thats the case try spraying the back of it with some sort of penetrating oil, let it sit for a bit. THen put some heat on it if you have torches, or beat it with a hammer. Sounds kind of crude...but it works

I had same problem on my 2002 explorer. Its either the computer module, or the electric solenoid on the transfer case. In my case it was both. The computer module I had done twice in 14 months.
