If you're using Vista, go into Recovery mode (or Startup Repair). In the options you'll have Factory Restor. Do that and your laptop will be restored to factory state.

This is either A hdd password or a bios password, you could try password, or admin / administrator as the password, or follow this guide, there are sometimes backdoor developers passwords that can work http://www.uktsupport.co.uk/reference/biosp.htm

Toshiba satellite L305-s5955 will not power up

If there is no power light and it can't charge your laptop, it is likely that the charger is dead. You need a new laptop charger. So try a new adapter to confirm the real issue.

There are two kinds of ac adapters for your toshiba l305-s5955

Toshiba Satellite L305 AC Adapter 75Watt 19V 3.95A

Toshiba Satellite L305 AC Adapter 90Watt 19V 4.74A

You should choose the right charger depending on your original adapter's specification. If the original one need 90w, you won't buy 75w that will bring damage to your laptop. If it needs 75w you can use 90w too.
