I have the same problem - brand new scale that does not display. New batteries are installed correctly. What is the solution?

Hi, well unfortunately your scales have faulted, usually it has to do with the "Torsion Bar" measuring arrangement, most often an arm goes "Open Circuit" or similar? In any event, it is unlikely to be an "Economic" fix. You will be best served by simply replacing it with another unit.
However, if you do wish to try for a repair, then simply get a "Quote" if this is what you wish to do? Then contact a Salter local or head office, and ask them for a referral to an authorised service center, now when in face to face contact here, or in any event, just ONLY ask for a "Quote" as to the prospective costings of the repair, and go from there. Then at the least you can make an informed decision as to repair or replace?

Hopefully you did put it in correctly. About the only other thing you can check is to make sure that the battery contacts are squeaky clean and that the new battery is indeed good.
