Look on the sidewall of your tire, it shows max pressure. Depends on type of tire and load. Do not go over max. Also take it to any service station,tire retailer or,walmart they will uselly check it for free.

32 to 35 p.s.i depends on the gauge how you read it count the lines in between the numbers ex.. I 20 - - - -25 - - - - 30 - - - - 35 I Look at the number that then count the line by one. Make sure you push the number bar all the way in you should not see any numbers. Push the gauge in the tire valve make sure you hear no air this my take some time to do so. Take your time and you will do fine. ( EX... 25 ---- 30 ---D the number 30 is close to the gauge and the number 25 is far away from the gauge. I used the letter D for the end of the gauge it read 34 p.s.i. Read the numbers between the line. I used 4 lines here and the numbers by 5. The number 30 then count the lines by one )

Will a g78-14 fit on a chevy cavalier 2003

You'll need to check recommended tire size for your vehicle, normally on a tag along the driver's side door frame. The G78-14 tire is approximately equivalent to a P215/75R14 tire. Please make sure you put the same size tire on both sides of your car, front or rear, to avoid stability problems and excess differential wear, and NEVER mix radial ply tires with bias ply tires.

Hi, I have a 91 chevy cavalier...uhhh this is going to sound really dumb but I am not sure how much to fill up my tires with air. I don't have special tires or anything but I have no idea how far to fill...

Good Evening, there is no such thing as a dumb question. The answer is written on the sidewall of your tire, however it is usually 32-35lbs. Some bigger tires and truck tires take even more. Glad to help.

My high beem light,airbag,service,abs,check gauges,all lights.my odometer doesnt illuminate . 2000 chevy cavalier. but car runs fine

I would recommend having the fuses checked and the electrical system reset by removing the negative terminal and replacing it.
otherwise it may be the control module or ccomputer that needs to be checked.

I would like more clarification on this.

Thank you

"Check tire pressure" light still on.???

pls follow these instructions:

Instructions Things You'll Need:
  • Tire Gauges
  • Tread Depth Gauge
  1. Step 1 Let the tires cool before checking their pressure (tires are more inflated when warm, less when cold).
  2. Step 2check-add-air-1.2-120x120.jpg jQuery(document).ready(function(){ jQuery('#jsArticleStep2 span.image a:first').attr('href','http://i.ehow.co.uk/images/a00/01/q9/check-add-air-1.2-800X800.jpg'); }); Remove the cap from the valve on 1 tire.
  3. Step 3check-add-air-1.3-120x120.jpg jQuery(document).ready(function(){ jQuery('#jsArticleStep3 span.image a:first').attr('href','http://i.ehow.co.uk/images/a00/01/q9/check-add-air-1.3-800X800.jpg'); }); Press a tire gauge hard onto the valve and note the reading. The sound of escaping air means you haven't inserted the gauge properly: it's either pressed on askew or you're pressing too lightly.
  4. Step 4 Add air to achieve recommended pressure, which is listed on a sticker on the driver's side doorjamb and in the car's manual. If you overfill, you can release air by pushing on the tiny metal stem in the center of the valve with a fingernail or the tip of a pen or pencil. If you need to guess, 32 psi (pounds per square inch) is a good rule of thumb for most passenger cars with standard tires.
  5. Step 5check-add-air-1.5-120x120.jpg jQuery(document).ready(function(){ jQuery('#jsArticleStep5 span.image a:first').attr('href','http://i.ehow.co.uk/images/a00/01/q9/check-add-air-1.5-800X800.jpg'); }); Replace the valve cap.
  6. Step 6 Repeat with each tire, including the spare (the status of its pressure is often forgotten until it's needed, and then it's too late).
  7. Step 7 Check the tread depth. Recommended depth differs with types of tires. For a standard sedan tire, a penny pushed into the tread can give you a rough reading. If you can see any of Lincoln's head, it may be time to replace the tire. A $15 tread-depth gauge can give you a more accurate reading. There may also be wear indicators built into the tread; if they show, replace the tire.
  8. Step 8 Check for even wear (see "How to Interpret Your Car's Tire Wear.") If the treads on the outside or inside are particularly worn, you may need to rotate your tires or have your alignment checked.
jQuery('.article ol .image').each(function(i,e){ var $this = jQuery(this); $this.find('img').error(function(){ jQuery(this).remove(); $this.remove(); }); });

My front tires look low. Tires just 1 year old but don't want to go "pay" for check. I have a gauge and can use it. BUT WHAT is the pressure for my car? Label under gas lid is gone.

For most tires the recommended pressure is around 35 psi (sae sorry I don't know metric) Without the label what i can recommend is to take the pressure of the back 2 tires, average the pressure and then put the front tires at that pressure. If they still look low add air at about 2lb increments just enough to make sure the tread is flat and square. Make sure all tires are at equal pressure. If the front tires continue to go low spray the tires gently with soapy water looking for air bubbles. It will show a leak if there is one and then you can have your tire repaired for less than the cost of a tire. Good luck.
