What is a email

An email is your gateway to the outside of your computer and is called an email address. Giving your email address freely to anyone it will soon become an open door to all the good and bad people. Good people would be friends and recognized companies with websites, such as banks and government agencies. The bad ones are the ones that constantly and repeatedly send you spam mail, usually laced with viruses, malware, spyware, Trojans, worms and a number of other unauthorized emails containing rude, often offensive material. On top of this you will also get scam mail from people who claim you won the lottery, or you have some millions left by a mysterious person, or even emails sent b crooks who claim you're a beneficiary of some large amount of money deposited in a Nigerian bank, even emails sent to you from the US by people who claim some relative you know in the US has left you a large sum, usually 2 or 4 million dollars, basically anything to make you email (write) back and fall into the trap because once you respond these scammers do two things. The first is they got your emails and if you respond a second time, you will notice that your computer doesn't run as it was running before you emailed back to these scammers because they have sent you a malware, or spyware, a bug that might sit in your computer so that the next time you do an Internet transaction or banking, where you expose your account and password, the bug is programmed to record your details and send it back to the waiting crooks. Normally this scam is done in Nigeria, but they have cells in the US and UK, so, it's hard to catch them. The second part is, they also sell your email address to other organization who then will persistently sent you more spam mail, offensive mail and fake promotion that someone who won the lottery wish to share the prize with you, when in fact there is no person who won the lottery and no such prize sharing. There are also people who claim that you have won a prize in a fake Facebook competition, and also those who send you a email claiming that you are a beneficiary of someone who died.

Suddenly your email address has brought all this problem in your life because you had thought to give it to just about anyone, even those video game companies and middlemen. Game companies and middlemen such as Steam/Valve, Activision, Ubisoft UPlay and any other game developers and middlemen alike or any websites that demand your personal details by forcing you to register your game, and if you don't register they simply will not unlock your purchased game. If this too much for you to bear, do not buy such games, do not give your email address to anyone you do not know and do not give your main email address. Make an email address for these people and then change it once they start sending you unsolicited, offensive emails that you had not requested. Sometimes it's best if you keep your castle (computer) bridge up all the times to stop unwanted emails. Use a trusted email blocker. It might help you in the long run, or you lose. Your email is like a wallet or purse. Would you leave these unguarded? Well, if the answer is no, then the same is with your email address. No one should have it except the people you know and trust.
