We had a power outage at our office and when the power came back on, our voicemail was not working. All other functions on the phone work, but we cannot retrieve voicemails or transfer to them.

Depending on your system and the level of power overvoltage protection you could have easily fried a component of the system - ie if your system is disc dependent for holding messages ( ie like old Octel systems) you could have fried the disc or disc controller.. Have you carried out an experiment yet by calling yourself and leaving a voicemail message to see if the system itself reports any error when trying to post a message?

How to restore voicemail after power outage avaya

The only way to restore the setting is through a Backup & Restore card plugged into the system. Also check the system batteries. This will keep power to system during an outage.

Norstar system won't recognize any features We had a power outage and now our phone system will not recongnize the voicemail or mailbox features. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks

Depending on the type of voicemail it can take up to 10 min, to fully come up. Is the power light lit in the voicemail cabinet? Also what kind of voicemail is it?

Since power outage phone lines do not ring - only to receptionist

Your system lost its programming. It will need to be reprogrammed completely. The lines are ringing on the extensions where I voicemail is, unplug voicemail and at least lines will ring in correctly.

FSK Voicemail Indicator not working

When you press the voicemail button on your phone it is retrieving messages stored internally in your phone. Verizons Voicemail is a seperate entity where the message reside on the server. If you do not want to use the Verizon Voicemail, simply call the business office and ask them to remove voicemail completely from the account. That way your phones internal answerming machine whille then catch all the voicemails and you can go back to using your voicemail button to listen to them. Hope that helps you and everyone else out.
