My dymo Petra tag qx50 will not print at all. New batteries etc still won't work??

SOURCE: Error 1 keeps coming up on display. Batteries are new, jam cleared from cutter area. No other jams. Why won't it clear?

I had the same problem. My batteries were fine, there was no tape jam, and I also cleaned the writing head with the DRY tool that comes with the label printer (you find it in the tape box). I opened the casing, checked the motor, etc. but nothing seemed to help. My last recourse was then to GENTLY clean the writing head by taking a lens cloth and putting some alcohol on the cloth. WOW! That worked!! Brief summary: Take a lens cloth or the tool that comes with the label printer and put some alcohol on it. Then GENTLY clean the writing head. I hope it works in your case, too!
