New versions of the Labelwriter 400 (original and Turbo) do not take Generic Labels. It is an issue with the firmware Dymo have installed - it will only relabelwriter400.jpgad the genuine labels made by Dymo. currently there appears to be no work around to solve this isses.
The Dymo OEM labels have lines print on the back, if you use labels without these lines, the printer gives an "out of paper" error
The only printers in the Dymo Range that will take our generic labels are the Dymo Twin Turbo and the Dymo Duo (both the more expensive from the range).
Dymo have only made this change in the last 6-8 months, old 400's will work with cheaper generic labels

There may be a small piece of label cutting stuck in the gears. remove the label cartredge, you will see a white gear set between the pinch wheel and the print head. Use a micro drive or something strong and give the gears a little help while pushing the print button. You may have to do this several times. Be careful not to use too much force as this may knock a tooth off. Good luck. My Dymo continues to print prefet labels.

I'm not sure you can actually print the labels from Quickbooks, but can print address labels, etc. to use with Quickbooks invoices, etc. you will actually have to print the labels from within the label software.

The software strips out blank lines from labels with Address blocks on them. Try using a label with a text block instead.

do you mean to replace the labels or to work on the internals? take it apart means different things depending on what you are trying to access.

Google is your friend in such cases

The minimum value for bytes per line is 0. If the bytes per line are set to 0, the printer will print one blank line every time it receives a character.

The user guide mentions nothing so it is down to programming. An easy way would be to insert a period, on the blank line.

My works Dymo LabelMANAGER 210D broke down because of a weak construction. The tape cartridge door pulls via a spring the print head towards the roller. Its plastic lever couldn't handle the strain. I repaired it with a peace of locking wire, as you can see on the picture. Greetzzzzz Arno
