SOURCE: bose wave type clock radio has no volume

Check the speaker/s first. If found OK; check and replace the damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit board. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience.

SOURCE: Bose Wave Radio AWR1 1W

I can tell you what to check if you know how to use an ohmmeter. But I warn you you could get shocked if you do not know what you are doing. The transformer has 3 windings, two are for DC voltages, and the other is 3V AC.Your meter can measure those using the AC scale. Next, check the voltage on the 3 terminal regulator IC. One leg will have 18V, the output will have 10V. Again please use CAUTION! Finally, the to-92 transistor Q1 is used as a 5V regulator. Check it (with power off and unplugged) for any shorts, especially base-emitter. If non of these ideas work, I would offer to buy your non working unit if you decide to get rid of it.

SOURCE: Bose wave radio will not power on. used to work

I repaired mine recently. Check transistor Q4 for an e-b short. The replacement costs less than $1.

I am trying to connect my Bose Wave Radio to my Yamaha RX S 70 receiver so that I can listen to the radio through my speakers. Right now the speakers are connected to the Yamaha...but radio isn't playing...

There's actually 2 ways of doing this.

Using the variable out connections on the Bose, connect your L&R channels to the desired input, I recommend the auxillary, on your Yamaha and select that input. Turn the volume all the way down on your Yamaha. Turn the volume on your Bose all the way up; then readjust the volume as desired on your Yamaha.

Optional connection; the headphone jack. Connect a 3.5mm mini to stereo plug cable from the Bose to Yamaha in the manner described as above and use the volume control approximately the same way.

One speaker doesn't work on my bose wave radio/cd?

I can only get one speaker to work continuously. The other works intermittently. If I move the power cord a bit, I can sometimes to get the one "bad" speaker to work. When it's working, the speaker sounds fine. This is driving me crazy. The power cord is new, so I think it has something to do with the power supply. The unit is a '95 Bose Acoustic Wave CD-2000.

Can i connect external speakers to my bose AWRCC1

The VARIABLE OUT jacks WOULD provide programming for an external device with ITS own speakers and local (Bose) control of the volume.

The manual is at Bose.com

No sound from bose wave radio/cd player Model awrc-1g? Mute is not on, and volume is up!

Your volume amplifier is either gone bad or you have a blown speaker itself.

Bose Wave Radio/CD - Sound from only one speaker

Sounds like the audio transformer, but it's difficult to tell because Bose will not release their schematics or parts lists, effectively giving them a monopoly on repair of these sets. On their web site, www.bose.com, they offer to repair most Wave sets for $100 or give $200 credit towards the purchase of a new Wave. Before you spend the big bucks though, you might want to check out the new HD radios. Better sound and MUCH lower prices than the Bose.
