Usually this is the nylon gears that control the cable. They are not individually replaceable. You have to order the whole internal window mechanism. The are not cheap. To get to it is a chore, there is a special tool that you need to pull the door panels off. If you don't use the tool you will damage the nylon clips or the door panel. When you get the panel off, you need to remove the sound deadening material and that is a stick mess.

If your window has popped out of its track , a neet hack to get it back in is to use a bar of soap !! just rub a generous amount on glass edge and window track and gently wiggle the glass back into track (don't bend glass) use only an old credit card or your "cold" bare fingers to wiggle it back in , metal tools will break the glass 4 sure

leave the soap on windows edge it keeps ice from sticking !!

Rear window washers work in all temperatures. Front washers work only when outside temps are above 0 ! Once temps are below zero there is nothing!!!

Sounds like you got it. Water is freezing up the wiper motor or wiper transmission at a certain temp due to water leakage in what is supposed to be a sealed area. (inside wiper motor, wiper trans linkage). "SOUNDS LIKE" water may have seeped in the moer seal & froze it or stripped the gears of the wipers? Good Luck Frank M

2001 oldsmobile aurora rear door driver side window glass falls down and does not work with the electric switch

If you can hear the motor running while pressing the window switch you may have a broken clip or something in the way causing the window to slip off track. If no sound comes while pressing the window button you may need a power window regulator motor "OR" the window button itself may need replacing. If the window was down when it stopped working and had to be manually rolled back up, this can cause the glass to randomly fall back inside the door. This is because the car thinks that the window is still down and will continue to fall until it tells the computer that the window was closed using the power window button. If the window falls at just the wrong angle you could end up having to replace the glass as well.

My driver side front window does not come down but the passanger side front and back and driver back do go up and down. Do i need to change the power window motor or is it the window regulator for driver...

regulator usually wears out and breaks or gets bound and burns up motor, change them both if available. Good sign of bad regulator is sloppy window in track, or window off track. I always replace them together if they are available. it is possible that you just need a switch, but most likely the reg/motor.

Drivers side door will not go up or down; window is off track and door will not open

Hello. You have two choices here on how to proceed. Often when this occurs, it is a sign that the window motor and the track inside that door are on their "last legs" This assembly is called the power window regulator and it can be found on the net for about $75.00 So, you may either put the window back in the track and hope for the best or you may choose to replace the power window motor and the track, which comes as one unit called a driver's side door power window assembly. Either way, you have to remove the inner door panel to expose the track and the motor and the glass.

The drivers side rear window does not work. It does side down, and when the power switch is press the motor turns on. could the window be off its track or does the window unit need replaced?

It sounds like the window may be off its track. All that needs to be done is to remove the inner door panel. Be careful to pry the clips very gently. They break easily. However, most auto parts stores carry replacements. Once the door panel is off, remove the plastic sheeting that covers the door frame. It's attached with a mastic adhesive.
Once you have a clear view of the window rail, carefully pull the pane up and set the glass on the track. You may need to apply some silicone in the track to keep the glass in place.

Then, test the alignment by pressing the power button and roll the window up and down. With the window closed, replace the plastic sheeting and the door panel.

That should do it.
