Can't install mac osx 10.5.7 combo update on Macbook Pro

Same problem here. At start of installation, during the installation configuration process the install bar stops and you can wait until you are stiff.  Running clean install of OSX 10.5 on a Macbook Pro. Am downloading the manual install to see if that goes better then using the software update tool.
Regards,
Marcel

U need to use original discs, any other way always causes these problems. it may also be a bad hard drive or bad ram which they deal with trasnfering data.

Cant open my macbook pro forgot the master password what can I do???

Applications Folder, Utility and look for Disc Utility and use it to change the password. If that does not do it, then use the Recovery Disc and reformat the HD and start over.

Have Mac OSX Snow Leopard v 10.5.8 need to upgrade to 10.6

You'll need to purchase the software via Apple Store App. You should be able to do a inplace update or you can do a fresh install as well.

My apple mac laptop says the hard drive is full . How do I totally restore and start the system again?

Hi,
Depending on the version of OSx you have;

Pre 10.7 you are provided OSx Disks. Simply insert the Disk and the installer will appear on your screen, run through that, it will reboot and starup off the disk. At the option of installation destination you can change the option to erase the Hard Drive and install.

Post 10.7 you will need to restart/power on your mac and hold the Option key [left of the CMD key] and you will see your hard drive and a recovery partition. Same process after that..

Hope this helps :)

Can I load the driver/software for my canon MP210 printer onto my OS Macbook pro?

Yes you can but you'll need to install the Mac OsX driver to make it run through your Macbook Pro. You can download the Mac OSX driver from HERE,(open the link and select O.S i.e. Mac OSX and Language and click "submit", the download links will be displayed) it should also be included in the CD that came with the printer.

Let me know if you need further help.

Good Luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Can't install mac osx 10.5.7 combo update on 10.5.2

The 10.5.7 update sometimes does several automatic restarts - depending on the mac and the previously installed OS version.
In my opinion the 10.5.7 update has been the strangest I have done.
Try this.
Hold down the power button for about 10 seconds. The MacBook should now be off - but it may restart automatically while flashing the sleep light at you - and make a long beep noise. Don't worry if that happens just let it do whatever it does. Watch the screen and follow any prompts that come up.
If the MacBook did not turn itself back on, hold the power button down again for about 10 seconds. What happens now?
Don't press any other buttons unless the computer tells you to.
If however, you end up with another 3 hour wait then something is definitely wrong and you need to take it in to a specialist.

Screen Resolution

your problem here can be resolved by installing the combo osx update. You can get it from here.

It's 668MB so you'll need to be a bit patient but once you've installed it it will put you back on track.

All the best

Macbook Pro airport extreme

You should only use Windows xp for running a program that is not yet available from Apple. There shouldn't be much reason to link to the net while in Windows. Also while in Windows you are wide open to any viruses that exist. Try getting your work done without getting on the net, then go back to your Apple format. There you are 99% free of viruses. … Still need to link onto the net let me know I will ask at our Apple Computer Club on Monday
