Same problem here. At start of installation, during the installation configuration process the install bar stops and you can wait until you are stiff.
Running clean install of OSX 10.5 on a Macbook Pro.
Am downloading the manual install to see if that goes better then using the software update tool.

hi there, experiencing the same crazy "long wait time". I've waited 3x 45 minutes and finally gave up. my eyes hurt and my brain almost sizzles. help please.
btw, what's this "original discs" people keep talking about. I downloaded the update from software update.
u need to use original discs, any other way always causes these problems. it may also be a bad hard drive or bad ram which they deal with trasnfering data.

PowerBook G4 15" 1.25 GHz - The native resolution (1280x854) does not show up in my monitor preferences. The highest listed is 1152x768. I reset the PRAM and NVRAM but still no change. Any ideas?
