LAN Driver Cannot be installed on Acer Aspire V5 Netbook

Try right click on driver and run as administrator. Then try right click on file, then properties, then compatibility, then run as vista or win7 as if it's a vista machine win7 files won't be supported and vice versa but sometimes this will make them work.

How to solve mscank error

Mscank is a system driver file which may be associated with any hardware device.

Open device manager to check which hardware device is not functioning properly on the computer and uninstall it.

a) Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button.
b) Click Control Panel, click System and Security, and then, under System, click Device Manager.If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
c) Now check if any device has any yellow exclamation mark on it.

Once you find any device with any mark, right click on that device and later click on Uninstalloption and restart the computer and check if it works.

If you are unable to find any device with any marks then check by enabling hidden devices.

a) In the device manager click on View and later click on show hidden devices and check if you find any device with exclamation mark and uninstall it

If the above step fails run Windows update to check and install recommended device driver update on the computer.
Update a driver for hardware that isn't working properly
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isnt-working-properly

If all the above steps fail then contact the manufacturer to get the driver update for all the device connected to the computer.

Hello everybody :) I am Using acer ASPIRE-4530 Notebook PC with W-XP SP3 Home Edition OS.After formatting and re-installing the same OS,I can not properly install Atheros WLAN Driver AR5B91! After few time...

Are you absolutely sure that you have the correct card/driver combination, make sure you have correct driver. Also install as Administrator, and run any software associated with it as Administrator, too. Go to device manager, right click on adapter, and uninstall the adapter, reboot, then, when it boots up, again, it should "Ask" for drivers, show it were the driver files are. OR don't continue with autoinstall, cancel, and run the install software to do so as said above.

Dvd driver shows yellow excclamation mark error code 41computer novice any simple suggestions would be appreciated

"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)"

Because of this error, the drive did not show up in My Computer and the customer was unable to burn CDs or read any CDs.

I uninstalled the drive from Device Manager, rebooted the computer, and the problem remained, so obviously it appeared to be a registry issue that I would have to solve. If you are receiving this Code 39 error and your CD or DVD drive is missing and has a yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager, I hope this information is useful.

To solve this Code 39 error, follow these instructions:

NOTE: After removing these registry keys and rebooting, it may be necessary to reinstall any CD or DVD recording applications.

1) Close all open programs

2) Click on Start, Run, and type REGEDIT and press Enter

3) Click on the plus signs (+) next to the following folders

* HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
* SYSTEM
* CurrentControlSet
* Control
* Class
* {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

4) This folder is the DVD/CD-ROM Drive Class Description in the registry. Look for any of the following names in the right hand column.

* UpperFilters
* LowerFilters
* UpperFilters.bak
* LowerFilters.bak

5) If any of the above keys shown in step 4 are listed, right-click on them and choose Delete

6) After deleting the keys, close the Registry Editor

7) Reboot
your computer

8) Open My Computer and check to see if your CD or DVD drives have returned. You may also want to open Device Manager and verify that the yellow exclamation and error code on the CD or DVD drive is gone

Network adapter

Hi keepwalking,
There are three revisions for this board. Please click on this link for the correct version number.
http://www.giga-byte.com/Products/Motherboard/Products_Spec.aspx?ProductID=2475

Create a folder on you're desktop & name it Chipset. Listed on the right side of the above page is Drivers. Click on the word Drivers. Next, under Chipset click "Download from". Pick a site to download from & save the download file into the folder you created on you're desktop. The file is compressed. Open the chipset folder & double left click the .exe file. Extract to within the LAN folder. Once finished. Open device manager. Find the yellow ! point for you're LAN controller/driver. Right click on the yellow ! point once & left click update driver. Windows hardware wizard will open. Click No, not at this time. Than click the next button. Another window will open. Left click once in the circle next to, Install from a list or specific location (Advanced). Than click the next button. Again, another window will open. We want to remove the green check mark next to, Search removable media (floppy, CD-ROM...). Click the green check mark once & it will go away. Click the Browse button. . Another window will open. (Browse For Folder). Click the + sign next to My Computer. Find the folder chipset on you're desktop. Open it.
Open the folder, INFUpdate & run the .exe file.
This will re-install the updated chipset drivers for you're Gigabyte board. Make sure you restart before testing you're internet connection. If the update fails to remove the yellow ! point in device manager you're onboard LAN controller may be defective.
It is suggested you call Gigabyte if you're board is still warranted. If it is not warranted buy & add a PCI network card.

Good Luck!
If I can help you further, feel free to post.
Suggestions & comments welcomed.

"a service installation section in this INF is invalid"

If the player is showing up in your Windows' Device Manager under "portable devices" with a yellow "!":

1.) Right-click the yellow "!" and choose "update driver".
2.) When given the option to connect to Windows Update, choose "no, not this time" and click next.
3.) Choose "Install from a specific location (advanced)" and click next.
4.) Choose "Don't search. I will choose the driver to install" and click next.
5.) Click the "Have Disk" button. Browse to C:\Windows\inf and choose the file marked "wpdmtp.inf"

I can't believe the generic players have such crappy support when so many people have this problem! I think the Windows file problem might be caused by "compressing old files" when you do a disk cleanup.
