I need a rf box as the Ariel input has been damaged

Arial now have to be digital compatible to usually work or they must run through a digital box to convert it. press the helpful button
Hooking up Digital TV Converter Box

The Hitachi 55PMA550 has the RF input on the left hand side of the center A/V input/output area, assuming the TV wasn't damaged. The AV1 input is on the right hand side.See page 48 of the manual (page 50 of the PDF); it's available here: http://www.hitachi.com.au/documents/product/55PMA550A_manual.pdf .

Note: this TV only has an analog tuner. You may need a set top box if your cable provider has upgraded to digital signals or if you are watching OTA channels.

Check the TV first by tuning it to an external RF source; ie; on-air program by connecting it to external Ariel and make sure that the TV is OK. If the TV works fine with on-air program, the Dish Network receiver is either fault, of it do not get input signal.

Use the RF 1 socket on the sky box into the ariel socket on the tv.
Pick a channel number on the tv and tune it to frequency 68.

If your TV comes with a composite video input then this may not be an issue. You need the RCA AV cable. Sega outputs only mono audio so put Yellow in TV video In and White in TV audio In (white connector).

If you still have the RF box for the Sega then you should be able to put RF from Sega and TV antenna to the RF box and connect RF box to TV antenna in.

If TV is only HDMI input then you need a converter like this

Channel 3 or channel 4 then for the rf switch to work. If you are using the av cable its on video 1 2 or 3 then.

Different TVs need different type of converter box to work properly. If your TV has audio video [A/V] input socket, go for a converter which has A/V output in it. If your tv has no A/V input, and only one ariel socket is there, buy a coverter which has RF output in it. Most of the coverters have both A/V and RF. Just buy that type of converter and it is good for you if you are not sure about the matter.
