Walking feet are difficult to attach until you learn how.

Bernina Walking Foot Unboxing Using

The person in the video (above) installs the foot from the right. I start out with the walking foot to the left of the needle bar. (It REALLY helps to use a knee lifter so the presser foot mechanism is raised as high as possible.) It helps to tilt the walking foot, the top should tilt maybe about 10 degrees to the right of vertical. The walking foot "fork" should encircle the needlescrew. Just bring the foot in from below and then up to attach. If you are having a lot of difficulty, you can even remove the needlescrew and needle, attach the presser foot then re-install the needle, put the skrew through the fork, into the needle bar, and tighten down the needle. But once you figure out how to tilt and swing the presser foot in and up, you probably won't need to fiddle with the needlescrew. (Note: Fixya thinks it's a bad word so I had to misspell it on purpose!!!)

Avoid bending the foot to attach. Just be patient.

The walking foot has a spring loaded lever that rides on the needle clamp screw. If you lower the needle into the hole on the walking foot it will remove the pressure and make it easier to attach the walking foot to the ankle.

Can you usethe three sole walking footon a bernina b670 machine

Your b670 has a dual-feed function. However, I don't see why you can't use a walking foot with your machine if you want to do so. I would suggest talking to your Bernina dealer 1) to make sure you can use a walking foot, and 2) which walking foot is the correct one for your model.

Bernina 1031 running unevenly

Hm, I'm wondering if the carbon brushes in the foot control unit are worn. I have a 930 Record that started running unevenly. We took the foot control unit apart and replaced the two carbon brushes for about $25 and the sewing machine is still running fine today.

Why will the walking foot number 1/p60443 not work on my berina virtuosa160

Are you not able to attach it to your machine or does the walking foot not work properly once it is attached?

The number should fit your machine unless someone inadvertently sent you the wrong foot.

If it attaches but doesn't "walk" when you sew, then it is not installed correctly. Be sure the needle clamp screw is "inside" the C-shaped lever of the walking foot. Hint: it helps to tilt the walking foot when installing in order to get it in the correct position for attachment as well as getting the C-clamp around the needle clamp screw.

Hi, what's the difference between bernina 1031 and bernina 1031DC?

Everything that I find calls it a Bernina 1031 DC. Even the manual to download from Bernina's website says "DC."

How do I keep the walking foot from unscrewing the needle holder on my bernina record 730

I don't know about bernina but I will take a shot at your problem. Make sure your needle is inserted in the needle arm with the flat part of the needle facing away from you. After it is for sure inserted in the crack in the arm tighten the needle down firmly. If the needle is backwards it will continue to come out. Your machine might sew but it will possibly make noise when the needle is in the down position. The problem isn't the walking foot.

Can Bernina walking foot with soles and seam guided used on Activa 210 be used on 16 yr old Bernina Activa 230????

Please be advised that the newer machines (Classic models) such as the 130-180 and up, have a totally different geometry. This is to say that the older machines have a shorter distance from the center of the presser bar to the needle center. The newer machine design was increased to provide space for needle threaders etc. Older machines will use an older Walking foot model (still available).

Bernina walking foot

Hm, just guessing here.

Have you checked to make sure the walking foot (u-shaped) bar is still attached to the needle bar? Are the feed dogs still in the up position and operating like they should?

Learn How to Use Sewing Machine Walking Foot

Something else that I've run across in my sewing adventures is that walking feet need periodic oiling to keep them operating. Just manipulate the walking foot with your hands and watch where there are moving joints. Then apply a small drop of good quality sewing machine oil to each joint. Work it in and then wipe off the excess so it won't stain your fabric.

No motor sound with walking foot on Bernina 1031?

Keep in mind that that is not a walking foot... it's actually an even feed foot.

Approach your issue logically. Take the EF foot off and put your normal foot one. Does the sound return to normal?

If it does... keep in mind that your machine is exerting more effort to make the EF foot work. That can make a motor sound differently.
