Any wear or play in a bush or rod usually gives a 'knock' or causes vibration, not a humming noise.
If there's play in the steering wheel that may be due to a worn steering rack and pinion.

A worn ball joint can cause a 'crack' noise and depending on the wear, vibration that will be felt through the steering wheel. A worn ball joint can also cause the car to pull to one side.

A humming noise suggests it is either a brake rotor/pad, or a worn driveshaft or wheel bearing.

I have a 98 Oldsmobile Intrigue the code c1226 and c1233 what does these codes mean.the track off ,anti-lock,service soon light are on what does this mean

C1226 Right Front Excessive Wheel Speed Variation
C1233 Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor Input Signal Missing
You could have a bad sensor on the left front wheel or bad wiring. Have it checked by a mechanic. Your anti-lock braking system is probably disabled under these conditions.

"Humming" or "bearing" type noise in left front at highway speeds

That's a hub bearing. Replace the one that's doing it. I'm assuming this 'roar' is coming from the front, NOT the rear.

Wierd noise

Sounds like a wheel bearing going, or gone. Possible tire/alignment, but more than likely, wheel bearing. You going to fix, or have it fixed?
