Why is my front driver side tire binding in 2 wheel drive

Front tire binds going forward in 2 wheel drive, does not bind in reverse, works perfectly in 4 wheel drive, no vibration or unusual noise ether way

SOURCE: How do I fix my front wheel drive system on my 2004 ATV 400 Sportsman Late model? After extensive work and parts replacement my all wheel drive is not working.

I have battled with my 4wd, did many of the same parts changes you did. Put it in the garage and was about to tear it all apart, and I brushed against the red kill switch on the left handlebar, and the 4wd icon on the dash lit up, and everything worked! There is a little dead spot in the switch, and if it isn't clicked right in the middle, AWD doesn't work. Once I figured this out, it works great! Hope it's as simple as that for someone else!

I have an older 4x2 gator.sometimes when I go to take off it makes a squealing noise like the brake is on and if it goes about 15 feet it will quit. and it feels like the brake is on.

If a brake is binding try driving in a straight line on tarmac, lightly grip the steering wheel and brake firmly. The gator will 'pull' toward the binding brake. So pulling left is a left side brake and pulling to the right is a right side brake.
Another test is to chock a wheel and safely jack up each wheel enough to clear the ground and turn each wheel by hand. A binding wheel will feel tighter or won't turn at all.

2007 Honda 400fa. Why is it difficult to steer?

Wheel alignment. You should have about 1" of toe out.
Tire pressure. Can't recommend an air pressure because I don't know what tires you are running but if the pressure is low, the input needed goes up.
Steering stem bushings. If they are dry, grease them.
Jack the front end up and see if there is binding in the tie rods/ball joints/wheel knuckles.

How do you remove and replace wheel studs?

Tap the threaded end with a soft face hammer and the stud will come out through the hub. To replace you tap the flat head of the new stud into the hub from the opposite side.
They have a spline on them that binds with the hub. Best to support the hub so as not to bend the alloy.

Brake is sticking

Rotors are bent.... overheats pads and calipers.. OR ..caliper mounts are bent.. either way.. you have a bind that is causing the pads, calipers, rotors, and/or fluid to overheat. It just takes a few minutes to get it too hot.

4 wheel drive locks in one side one side will not some times makes a sound to if 2 sides are in

Model? If you put it in regular 4WD it will usually only spin one tire. If you have diff lock and use it, it locks both front wheels but can be hard on front end parts. The front end will do some clanking and popping because it doesn\'t really like diff lock.
