Why ceramic is wearing off beater of kitchenaid mixer?

You need to adjust the head height. Raise the head and look into the hinge from the front of the machine. There is a single slotted screw there, anti clockwise to raise the beater from rubbing the bowl. Just enough to clear is all you need.

Where is the Height Adjustment Screw on the KitchenAid K45SS Classic Stand Mixer? [email protected]

It is in the front middle of the hinge area, visible with head raised. Clockwise to lower and anti clockwise to raise. Head height is set with flat paddle to just clear the bottom of the bowl when head is locked down.

Motorhead wobbles

It will be to do with the hinge pin, the head lock or the head height adjustment. Make sure that the hing pin is held tight in place with the grub screw in the middle accessed only when the mixer & stand are upside down. Then make sure that the head height is correctly set with the adjustment accessed from the front when the head is raised. You can see the adjustment screw in the middle of the hinge when you have raised the head. In to lower the head and out to raise the head. The flat paddle needs to just stop tinging on the bowl when the motor is operating and the head is down.

Check your manual that came with it. There's usually a customer service number. Things like that usually must be ordered dirctly from the manufacturer.

My mixer is a lift-top and the top seems to be loose and wobbles as it mixes. help?

Hi, W/D here.

If you raise the head of your mixer, and look under the raised part, you'll see a silver screw head with a slot for a standard bladed screwdriver. Tighten that screw, and that should do it.

Mixer blade is chipping

If it is a tilt head mixer then adjust the screw which can be seen by tipping the head back and looking into the pivot point. Turn the screw CCW to raise the head and prevent the paddle from hitting the bottom of the bowl.

If it is a lift bowl mixer there is an adjusting screw on the frame of the stand behind the bowl holder mechanism. It rurns a cam which adjusts the height of the mixer.
See pg. 13 of the owners manual for bowl height adjustment procedure:

clockwise to lower the head and counterclockwise to raise the head for more clearance for the beaters.

I can't get the tilt release to release to raise the mixer . I have a batch of cookie dough in the bowl and I am unable to raise the mixer

Try running the mixer for a few seconds to clear anything out from under the beaters, like a chocolate chip. You can also try pushing down on the beater end of the mixer, press the button and lift.
