Yeah I think the bracket support is bent inside because when I try to plug my ethernet cable into my mac it wouldn't click and it's loose.

  • reila_a_c Jul 14, 2009

Is there any easy way to bent it outwards without opening my macbook? I'm not tech savvy.

  • reila_a_c Jul 16, 2009

Wireless broke now ethernet broke too lol.

But I got around it by getting a USB to Ethernet from Radioshack. Cost me about 25 bucks but I can go online now.

    Thanks alot mate!

Easiest fix is to go wireless, either that or the laptop will have to be opened up and the bracket support that holds the cat5 connector will be bent inside

Which wires on the Cat5 are connected to the WAN Port

Cat 5 is a cable configuration standard that uses a plug and jack that is similar to a modular phone jack called rj45. Those cables plug into multiple points on the router. If you have a separate cable modem, the cat 5 cable from the modem connects to the WAN port on the router.

How to you connect to the serial port to a DSR2010?

the 2010 is a legacy KVM DSR, and you might not have the same features that are present on the 8035 model. the settings to connect to the 2010 with a NullModem cable are 9600, 8, none, 1, none (same as Cisco settings).

The 8035 comes with a special adaptor which is DB9 to RJ45 and it comes in the box.

I hope that answers your question.

As far as console logs goes, no such thing on the DSR line.

Download to my laptop

connect it via usb cable, install the relevant drivers that came with the printer and and you can send anything to print.

or wirelessly, connect printer to your wireless router using rj45 cable (cat5)...and then find the ip address....then using the printer and scanner option install it, but you will need the drivers (cd) again.

i hope this helps and is not tooo confusing!...lol

Plz explain me exactly for which purpose RJ-45 cable used ?

RJ -45 is a type of connector used on cat5, cat5e....etc cables to connect networked devices...the RJ stands for registered jack but there is really not much you really need to know about it....a RJ 45 JACK is a little bigger than a telephone jack, you'll notice the female type of input on your computer or laptop and the male end will be on the end of the cable that goes into this jack....hope this helps

Require assistance in connecting cable to a single CAT5e configured wallplate

Well, what can I say? you only need a cat5 ethernet cable with rj45 plugs and plug one side in your computer and the other in the wallplate, beside that with this information I can not say anything else.

good luck

Network cable stopped being recognized

rj45 (cat5) sockets have 8 internal tensioned wire prongs, (six are used for cat5 ethernet)
use weakens the tension and they can be dislodged sideways vertically or disconnected from the internal cabling. Likewise solder connnections to the motherboard fail.
a possible fix is to power down the pc, and with a jewellers screwdriver ensure that all the internal wires are present, straight, aligned, and protruding across the opening.
If there are missing wires(broken) then the rj45 socket shoould be replaced at your local pc store, (not walmart)a796c91.jpg

How do i connect my printer with a usb to a Ethernet (RJ45) cable

Hi Tony,

I assumed you'd like to share the printer on network. I recommend to buy a printer server device that will connect USB port of printer and that device has RJ45 port that can be connected to router or switch hub to share the purpose. Hope this gives you an idea.

Best regards,
Rosener
