first fully discharge the battery then place it in a plastic container and put it on the freezer overnight, just make sure that no moisture will enter on the cointainer. after taking it out on the freezer let stay at room temperature for 5 minutes, then charge it. I always do this with my old batteries and it works well.

Yes this is a relatively speaking easy repair for any service center and repair shop and could be done in a matter of minutes.

The only complexity is dissasemble of the phone in order to reach to the right pin that broke.

This can be done by you or a friend technical enough with the ability to solder with a very steady hand.

If your phone is still under warranty (which is not very clarified) 1 year or less anyway take it to LG for warranty repair.

They have to do this for free.

Drain the battery completely 2 or 3 times, then fully charge it and see how long it lasts. If this doesn't help then you might want to take it back to the store. Your phone is obviously trying to figure something out which is sucking down the battery. Bluetooh will drain a ton of battery out for long periods, hence keeping it hooked up in the car. I have gone through multiple razr phones in the past and they all sucked down batteries pretty quick so in the case, blaming the phone is an option :) . You can also try taking the battery out to give the phone a good restart, perhaps leave out for 30 seconds or so. I wouldn't recommend sending it in to Motorola, they like to find ways to charge you to just have it looked at.

Other ways:
the batery its not charging at all?
you can buy a Universal Batery Cell phone carger, these ones got the ability of charge some times baterys whit thiis kind of problem.
Make an adaptation from other batery (just look details as Voltage, amps) sometimes its require soldering directly to your phone :S (pretty extreme)
