Why won't hd channels be found when I tune my 42

It depends where you are. Digital has replaced analog signals. If you don't receive channels, ask a friend or neighbours on the situation with their TV. If their hd TV are working properly, then you may have not tuned the TV properly. Have you chacked the Antenna cable? Yes? Then tune it with care and watch what happens. Normally, the TV will show if a signal has been detected. If you have no signal, you need a technician because there are more than one reason this is happening, probably you haven't connected the Antenna cable. Who knows. Again, check the antenna cable, is it lose or wrongly inserted? If you have a small digital TV, connect the antenna to that TV and see if the channels are working. If not, it's probably the cable from the wall socket to the TV (change the cable) or the Antenna cable had been a meal for a rodent on the roof. As I said, who knows?

How to tune samsung tv

Mono is the first point I am stuck on. Mono is an audio reference but I am going to assume that you are only receiving the analog channels and not the digital. If you are coming off of an antenna then the antenna has to be HD to receive HD channels over the air. If you are off of a cable box then this has to be dealt with from your provider. You will also need an HD ready TV or if you do not you will need an HD converter box to make your tv work with the digital signal.

I am unable to auto tune my Tevion DVD Recorder

If the recorder is old the analogue/digital change is screwing it up. It isn't the TV that is the problem, it is the received signals, but the problem is the same.

Can a toshiba 28z07b be digitally tuned

Hi,
Your TV set has a 181 Channel Tuner and 100 Programme Positions..
Over the air signals (analog and digital) are free but require an special antennas for Digital reception and reception depends on your where you live and other factors.
Additionally Cable and satellite signals require you to connect a cable to your
TV tuner and a subscription and cable box for premium channels including Digital channels..
While all l TV tuners have the ability to receive over the air TV signals,
not all tuners can receive high definition (HD) signals. In North America, all
over-the-air TV is now broadcast in digital quality (ATSC).
ATSC is the over the air HDTV standard for North America and is currently available
in over 200 cities in the United States.

Hope this helps!..if more help requires pls let me know.
Take care and please

I got an American model of LG. i can not tune it by auto nor manual can you please help

You can get a manual here: http://www.lg.com/us/tv-audio-video/televisions/LG-lcd-tv-32LG30.jsp . Click on the Support and then on the right hand side look for User's Manuals. Since the TV has a tuner for ATSC, NTSC, and Clear-QAM, the next question is what is your signal source? (analog, digital and unscrambled cable)

If you are using OTA, make sure that the input is set to Antenna. Use antennaweb.org or tvfool.com to check the direction to point your antenna and the appropriate antenna for your distance to the transmitter. antennaweb assumes an external antenna and is very conservative in the list of channels you should be able to receive. tvfool gives the stations available with different antennas. If you have several tvs connected to one source, you may need an amplifier in addition to the splitter. This also can help marginal signals come in since digital is either enough for the tuner to resolve or no signal. (Check splitters and amplifiers if you suddenly can't get a signal that you used to receive. Also check if the antenna has been turned.)

Menu > Channel > Auto Tuning or Manual Tuning. If Lock System is active, you will need the password. Auto Tuning only searches for digital or cable channels. The manual tuning option should provide the signal strength as well for digital stations (as well as letting you search for analog signals or all signals (digital, analog, cable).

Use the input Cable for coax cable connections. Other inputs will not allow you to search for channels since they are meant to be controlled by the set-top box feeding the system.

I hope this helps.

No digital channels

Hi quinny 1982,

The first thing to check do is look in the manual on how to do a factory reset.

Once you've done that look at this page on how to check the signal strength the TV is receiving. Anything less than 50% and most tuners will not display a picture.

If the signal strength is okay then try another auto tune.

If your still having a problem then I'd suggest you you might have a faulty unit. However, a lot the time companies like to blame your reception area, TV Antenna (Ariel) or cable length or quality. Yes, old coaxial cable used for analogue TV is not very good when used with digital equipment (not a surprise)!

From what you've described, if you can only get a mono signal I'd be surprised it that's actually a digital channel.

Don't forget to check your Antenna connectors.

Hope this is helpful.

Best of luck.
