Crosely dryer is stuck in. Cycle won't restart

Please explain further - What kind of machine is it, what is the model, that sort of thing. Is it a clothes dryer? What country are you in? It helps me answer questions when I have more details. Offhand, I would advise you to unplug the power cord, press the control switch to off, then on, then replug the cord and try to operate as you normally would. Electronically controlled machines usually have an electrical charge stored on the circuit at all times, and by removing the power source and cycling the on/off switch this allows the components that store electric charges to discharge - then you are starting the machine back up with a clean "memory" - in other words the mode it is stuck in will usually be restored to normal by a power off reset.

Good luck

Samsung DV410AGW Dryer My dryer which is brand new will not start. It appears to have an hour glass on the control panel which i have not seen before. dryer will not start even after i unplugged it...

Hi,

Sorry to take so long. I have been talking to Samsung support. the hour glass indicates that the dryer is in a cycle, but as it wont start and you've tried unplugging it, it seems there is a fault. Your dryer is new, so you need to contact Samsung for a service visit:

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/request

Before doing this, try unplugging the dryer again and this time leave the power off for a few hours - assuming you haven't done this already. It might reset if you do this.

I've pasted a transcript of my conversation with Samsung below. I pretended to be the appliance owner as otherwise they would not answer my questions!

Hope this helps!

Control panel dead

1. Unplug dryer.
2. Remove 2 screws from rear top of dryer.
3. Lift panel assembly up, taking care to not pull wires.
4. Check plugs on circuit board for panel display. Press each one firmly, but carefully.
5. Put back together, plug in, turn on.

Kenmore dryer

IF THE DRYER COMES ON BY ITSELF WHEN THE TIMER IS SET AND THE DOOR IS CLOSED, THE PUSH TO START SWITCH IS SHORTED. THIS WILL CAUSE THE END OF CYCLE SIGNAL TO BUZZ WHEN THE TIMER IS IN THE OFF POSITION(END OF CYCLE).UNPLUG THE DRYER, REMOVE THE BACK PANEL OF THE CONSOLE, AND REMOVE ONE WIRE FROM THE PUSH TO START SWITCH. ISOLATE IT SO IT ISN'T TOUCHING ANYTHING AND PLUG THE DRYER BACK IN. SET THE TIMER AND CLOSE THE DOOR. IF IT DOESN'T START UP OR BUZZ, UNPLUG THE DRYER AND REATTACH THE WIRE. PLUG THE DRYER BACK IN AND SEE IF IT STARTS BY ITSELF. IF IT DOES, THE PUSH TO START SWITCH IS SHORTED AND WILL NEED REPLACED.
