My dryer is not getting power, How do I fix this?

When I try to turn it on it sounds like it's trying hard to get started then shuts off in less then a minute. If I try pressing the bottom again, it does nothing at all. Any idea what could be wrong? I need to fix it myself.

Gets too hot, replaced thermal fuse, made sure air path all cleaned out, seem like thermistat on hard all the time. Suggestions on which one?

Try inserting a thermometer in the vent on the back with the vent tubing off . Run it and see if the heating element turns off at 180 degrees or less if not try a new operating thermostat . It's supposed to shut it off . Try this on timed dry if it shuts it off in timed dry may be in the auto dry circuit somewhere.
Be sure the vents inside the dryer and to the outside are completley clean do this first. Check for lint and anything else around the blower wheel.

Kitchenaid dryer keye670bwh2 turns on heats up for couple of minutes and then turn itself off

how do you mean it turns off?does the timer move to off or is it the motor is bad, overheating and shutting down?if it's the timer try it on auto or more or less and timed dry and see what it does, but if it just dies and then after a while you can start it again it sounds like you have a bad motor but this is just a guess without being there, this is an older dryer and not to expensive,i wouldn't put to much into this dryer.it wil cost you around 120 dollars for a new motor and blower wheel but if the blower wheel comes off the motor shaft you won't need it,if you're handy it's not a hard job but for another couple of hundred dollars you can get a new dryer, your call let me know what you find and what it's doing, also when you go to start it does it make a noise like a loud ahhh sound>if so it will be the motor.

The dryer shuts off on its own after less than 20 minutes and won't turn back on for several hours. Acting like its overheating or something?

Replace Moter. You can find a new moter at www.repiarclinic.com . Remember to unplug the dryer befor trying to fix it. The hardest part of fixing appliances is knowing how to take them apart. Get American Home Shield Home Warranties @ http://www.ahs.com/ .

Dryer won't start. has power, lights are on, when I push start I just get a loud humming sound.

Try to turn the tub by hand, if it will not move or is real hard to turn, your motor may be locked down. They usually make a humming sound when you try to start.

Code dr keeps popping up even if the door is shut and the dryer will not turn on

It means that the door switch is making a bad connection. You should look around near the door switch for loose parts or wires. If everything seems tight, perhaps replace the door switch

LG Tromm DLE5977W Dryer about 1 1/2 yrs old. Running small load on normal and we heard a funny clunk noise and than the dryer shut off. When i went to look, power was still on with 20 min. left on timer....

3 screws on back of dryer to remove the top. Top slides back about 2 inches and lifts off. Dryer drum should have a thin drive belt around it. Pull on belt. If broken you will know. If loose, then it's off pulleys. Sounds like a broken belt. Check repairclinic.com or appliancepartspros.com for dyi videos on how to replace.

Bosch dryer

I had this problem for an axxis condensation WTL5410.
When starting dryer ligghts on front would cycle through normally as if dryer were running but dryer would not turn or get hot.
The problem was the door switch.  Push in the door switch activator on the bottom right of the dryer.  Push it hard a few times and try the dyer again.
doesnt sound like a great solution - but after 150$ and 2 service calls - it was what fixed it for us.
