Are you sure it's the port and not the cable? Check it using another HDMI cable before going any further. Most TVs have more than one HDMI port. If you pulled the cable out or was rough in inserting the cable, you might have damaged the port. If there's another port, switch to that one and just reset the info on your TV to use that port instead of the other...but I'd check the cable first...that's the easy fix.
Jan 8, 2010 - i tried to hook up an HDMI devise but i cant set it on input HDMI it ... My TV has HDMI, Component and AV inputs, which one should i use for my ...
Try a different HDMI cable first into all ports. Try every HDMI cable you have. Then try a different component into TV HDMI ports. If you are using the receiver to switch inputs, try running HDMI cable straight into TV. HDMI is very finicky. Some cables won't work or stop working for no apparent reason.
I think that its a port issue, if all the other ports are working but hdmi is not then one of the pin on the circuit board may have come loose. I have the same issue. Could try to solder it back on or use a glue gun. let me know if this helps?
I know it Sounds silly I also have a Hitachi TV and got issues with HDMI, I unplugged from wall for 15mins and turn it back, then I tried my PS3 and worked.
If not there is a firmware update on the website however it needs to be uploaded by a "technician" via USB drive mine has a USB port but there is no update for mine.
I have a hitachi 57f59a projection tv. I had lighting storm and shut tv off and power was out and when it came back on i turned tv on now my hdmi port on tv doesnt work. any help please
But be absolute sure your HDMI port is not working properly, I recommed you try it again with another HDMI cable, you can also try same cable in another TV.
Right now there seems to be many people with the same TV problems with sony and HDMI cables. Most of the solutions are resetting the TV and sony product. Try leaving your TV unplugged for a hour to let it reset itself.
