Hi i have vauxhall corsa 1.2sxi twinport 2005, i recently had a mechanic run some tests because it was losing power there was little bit of cream round the oil cap, he did compression test and emissions test which all come back fine, i also explained to him that the car was boiling over not the temp gauge on dash but the water tank itself when driving it sprays water all over engine, so he had look and told me that the spark plugs that i had on it were rubbish so he changed them and put new water cap on, i thought that was fantastic as he saved me 380 as i thought it was head gasket. I been driving car and its lovely but checked under bonnet tonight and noticed that the water was again spraying over engine whilst i was driving it also when hot looks as though there is no water in tank as well but as soon as i open cap the water rises back to the max level any ideas anyone really need to know whats up with my car x x

Sometime it is hard to diagnotic head gasket when leak is very small, Put pressure on 15pound air pressure in cooling system when cold and check leak.

You could find it with exhaust gaz analyser in the radiator cap(exhaust leak from head gasket) if so try BARS leak or head gasket sealer in radiator sometime it work for small leak

I have a vauxhall corsa 1.2 twinport , witch is getting a creamy oil and water mix under the oil cap, it's had two chemical head gasket check and both have said its not gone, now the water is getting...

Do you only drive it for short distances ( under 20 miles)?
Do you live in an area that gets cold temperatures?
Those two combined create a lot of condensation. It might be "normal" for this time of year with short drives.

Hi i have a vauxhall corsa 1.2 twinport 06 plate! I have just checked the oil and inside the filler cap was a light creamy gunge does this mean my head gasket has gone or just condensation as the car is...

I'm afraid this means your head gasket has gone. What you are seeing is emulsified oil (Oil and water that have been whipped up together by the engine to create an emulsion). There is only one cause for this: Water leaking into the oil from the cooling system. ...And there's only one way this can happen, which is a breach between an oil way and a water way. 99% likely this is a head gasket failing, with a small chance that you have a cracked head.

It's not a huge job for a "Local Mechanic" rather than a main dealer to undertake, but without action it will get worse and worse.

The bulbs in my rear brakes keep blowing. Vauxhall Corsa

Make sure its the correct bulbs. Then you have to back probe the circuit to determine where the short is. If its not the correct bulbs issue, then I recommend you test the brake switch on the brake pedal before going any further with this diagnosis.
