Have a knife not sure if it is 440 stainless can't find the stamp, had rust on it from being outside.
. Stainless
Steel contains high carbon traces for strengthening, they will almost certainly
rust. To ensure that you care for your knife you should rinse it well with
fresh water after a dive and allow it to dry naturally outside of its sheath,
you can also apply some oil to the blade from time to time, and this will
preserve your knife for longer.
There are many metals used to assemble a knife, but the
main blades are forged from bronze,
copper, iron, steel, ceramics, and titanium. If you're buying a new knife I
recommend to use titanium made knife, it's very high quality an titanium is the
best stainless steel.
