We had a thunderstorm and it close by and turned off the tv. When I turned it back on, the screen is blue but no reception. Any ideas? Is there a reset button?

You probably got some lightning through the antenna connection to the tuner input. You can try feeding it with a DVD player through the RCA jacks, setting the TV input to match the jack location on the TV. If that works, you can use an external tuner to watch TV, or you could pay to have the tuner section repaired. The repair might be a little pricey though.

I have astron tv 14 inches. when i connect outdoor antenna the. tv screen turn black. no signal. no reception but when i disconnect the outdoor antenna it turn to blue screen.

blue screen means 'no signal' or 'signal level is too low' whereas black screen means that there's a signal. Check your antennae, do a factory reset to your unit and then try initial setup.

Everything works fine but there is no blue cursor

You may be to close to the wii receptive piece. Try putting it above or bellow your tv (I have mine sitting on top) and sit back away from the screen. Also use steady movements, nothing too fast

An electrical pulse from the thunderstorm has affected your TV. (Was it on a surge protector?)

There is a small possibility that it will come back.

Unplug the television and let it sit for an hour or more and then re-plug it.

If you need to get a new TV, also get a good surge protector such as Panamax.

Panasonic TH-42PX75U Blue Screen

This could be a reception problem of the cable transmission or the cable box if used. Are you using cable or SAT box. Tv goes to blue screen if signal is weak automatically.

Only see a blue screen ...

Hi, The bluescreen is an indicator of "lack or absence of a video signal". In TV mode this would only come on if your reception quality is so poor that the TV "thinks" there is more interference/noise than intelligent video signal nd therefore mutes the video. In all other modes, (S Video, A/V Video etc), again, this muting action will result in the bluescreen if the TV "thinks" it is not receiving any video input. To try and fix this would either be: 1. Check and verify that you have a video signal coming into the TV by trying your video source (DVD, cable box) into another TV unit; or 2. Check and verify that your connectors at the back of the TV and the source are properly connected and are snug/fitted properly. If both fails, it is possible that you have component failure inside the TV and that would require the services of a qualified TV professional. Hope this be of help/idea. Post back how things turn up or should you need further information. Good luck and kind regards.

Snowy picture, no reception?

Hi, Your question "Do bigger TV's need an aerial booster or something?" - No, normally it should work straight out. Boosters are used for fringe location not bigger TV. Pls a questions and some ideas: 1. "TV worked fine the night before" was it hooked up to Cable or aerial? 2. If cable, it is necessary that you change the settings of the TV from cable to STD or Air or something like that. Normally this can be done via the remote, menu, setting, set-up; 3. If aerial, you would probably need the assistance of a qualified service personnel. Apparently something got loose inside the Philips TV, not a big problem because you can still receive (BBC 1) but not the other channels, possibly a loose wiring, a disconnected connector. 4. If you feel comfortable working on it yourself, unplug the tv and the aerial, open the back and poke around. Trace from the aerial jack, the lead wires used, the connector to the main circuitry. Wiggle the wires a bit for any loose connection. 5. If #4 is not to your liking or if you do not find anything or no significant improvement after closing it up and running it again, guess you're back to #3. Hope this gives you some idea. Lots of luck and kind regards from the Philippines.
